My problem is that I went through the Mingle Forum setup and created the page titled “Forum” inserted the shortcode in the HTML of the Forum page and I get the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/roundh9/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/page.php on line 16

Also, after setting up, I get this message: IMPORTANT: As of version 1.0.03 the skins directory has been moved to /wp-content/mingle-forum-skins/ – Why did you change it?

I didn’t change it and when I look from my FTP, there is no such directory and it’s not in any Mingle_Forum directory. There is a default-skin sub-directory under Mingle-Forum so I don’t know what the deal is. I am so tired of trying different Forum plugins and getting about the same errors. Can you help me. Can someone help me? It looks like what I’m looking for but I kind of want something quick or will just look for something else. That’s the only bad thing about this forum. Did you get an answer to this question? I too installed it, did the widget on the sidebar setup, configured the Section Widget under Settings, but still can’t figure out to get to the menu or place it on my page.

Mine activated and I edited the settings, not many. But the Comment box shows up on the far left page as a button that can be expanded, but it also posts a comment box at the top right of my page covering my page content at the same time. I can’t push everything down because the page title, which I can’t control starts there. I have tried “over’ and “under” and its the same. https://roundhousetalk.com

Fixed it. The image was messed up in it’s image link. It’s fine now. Thanks.

Maybe I’m doing the wrong thing. I was hoping to use the plugin to capture Posts of news articles. Does adding a slide image become a gallery, or will it also capture the Posts? If the news content doesn’t have an image (picture) what happens? I was hoping to capture the top Posts without having to set it up each time I want to change an older article to a more recent article. Am I close in my thinking?

I tried everything the documentation said to do, created the new slide show. Still can’t see anything in my https://roundhousetalk.com page. The ‘[meteor_slide]’ is in my html page. Previously I used slide deck 2 and it worked, but I want something more eye catching such as yours. What next?

Which php file do you place the code in and where? That’s where I usually have problems. Of course, I’ve only been doing this since 2 weeks ago and never built sites before.

Did you get it resolved? I am having trouble seeing anything on my static homepage at all. I placed [promoslider] in my homepage HTML page. I then configured the settings under the link “Slider Options” and then selected the “Add New Promotion” link which takes me to the page to create a new slider. What are you supposed to do to create a new promotion and then see it on your homepage? This is confusing. https://roundhousetalk.com WordPress 3.4.2 ver.

Hey, I just tried to click on the left sidebar links and nothing happens. But in the links selection, the URL are correct, but nothing happens on the homepage.

I actually wouldn’t mind the left sidebar if I could move over the body margin so there is no overlap. It doesn’t look bad with the left sidebar if so.
