gambit, i’m with you. there is some major workflow issues with custom fields.

it also appears if a page “autosaves” before you publish it will create a draft and sometimes lose custom field data.

you must ensure you publish before starting to insert custom fields. i’ve launched some rather large sites and farmed out data entry, and ran into some very frustrating times with this.

i recommend using different categories – usually works for most situations!

most hosts use localhost to refer to the database server {as in, it’s running on the same machine}, but sometimes you’ll have to know it’s own URI … such as db.domain.com.

double check with your host!

i’d recommend contacting your host as soon as possible.

go ahead and use the full path in the src

as in

you could also set the timestamp to a date in the future, but you’d have a goofy looking 2025 date for everyone to see.

be sure you’re not leaving out the # before the hex value, as well.

i’m currently using query posts to show the archive links for the correct category, but those links mash up all the sites content, and doesn’t keep it seperate.

i tried adding

query_posts(‘cat=2’);
wp_get_archives(‘type=monthly&limit=12’);

but it didn’t change a thing.

will i need a plugin for this? =/
