I still have the issue. Makes some menu items unavailable because the navigation is off by one.

In reply to: Blog page and home page reversedI’ve run into this several times since I originally posted the question. In EVERY case the theme had a slider on the landing page that was in lieu of a Home Page. In other words, you didn’t need to create a home page. In the cases where they supported a home page, the results are the same – do not indicate a static home page in WP setup. Just leave it all as default. The php determines what to do. If you indicate a static home page, the theme gets confused and switches home and blog.

In reply to: [FAQ Manager] [Plugin: FAQ Manager] Ordering is getting cumbersomeI agree with Debasish Panda. Love the plugin. Using it with great success in my new site. HOWEVER, I’ve already put in dozens of FAQ’s. They are being placed onto pages based on Category. That’s wonderful. Ideally, over time there will be dozens of FAQ’s per category so having a category organization scheme in the sorter would be a wonderful enhancement.

In reply to: [FAQ Manager] [Plugin: FAQ Manager] Bullet individual questions?I too am using Suffusion but can’t get this to work. I’ve entered the code given above as a test and to no results. I thought it might be because I’m using h6 for my questions so I also tried it with h6 in the code but no difference. I’ve turned off jquery so i can have a visual differentiation until I get a handle on this question styling.
bowoolley – did you get it working?
My site (not live yet per-se) is https://www.ehobbiesblog.com
Thanks Marcus, Stupid question about “add via Google”.
I noodled around on my google calendar and finally found the add url option (not under settings but on the main calendar page) however I cannot find an events.ics file on my server. Do I need to save it as a file on the server side first?
I have tested the events.ics for my macbook and it worked. I guess that means anyone in our organization could invoke this via a page link and they would get the option to sync download our org’s event’s to their personal calendar. I don’t know if updates to events, additional events etc. later would be sync’d in.
I also don’t know if we have a true Google Calendar if the Events Manager can carryon a sync with that external calendar with two way communication. Can someone clarify? I don’t know what an ICS file is so references to the events.ics without use information is giving me all I need.
I just found the iCal link and gave it a try on my macbook. Worked wonderfully. Looks like all the events on our site loaded to my iCal account. Does this work for PC Users?
Will post my other questions as different threads.

In reply to: Filter RSS to registered users categoriesoops, that 2nd paragraph is a bit hard to follow. Sorry, too early here. Hope it is clear enough to get my point across.

In reply to: Filter RSS to registered users categoriesHey Matt, thanks for the reply. Yes I guess activate was the wrong word. I really meant “once I provide easy links for and encourage the use of”.
I’ve deployed Subscribe2 and the mail batching plugin and all is well on that end. I’m trying to get our members to convert to Registered users as fast as possible. The underlying success of using these tools, will be tied to the ability for every sub group (Cub Scout Den) to notify their members via a post. If someone stays at as a public Subscriber (or subscribes via RSS) then they will get everything.
If I get the respective Den leaders to write good excerpts then getting some RSS that isn’t relevant to them isn’t so bad. Still it would be keen if a feed subscriber could use the categories as a filter but sounds like too much work and fraught with support gotchya’s. I still have much to learn about RSS and Subscribe2 when it comes to things like private posts but that’s simply a matter of taking the time to read documentation and forums.
On a similar topic. Do you have any desire/intention to put RSS icons in your Subscribe2 widget? Would help with some real estate in the sidebar.
Also, I’ve been working with Deborah Hanchey on subscriber workflow and that’s been useful. I can fill you in on that off-line if you like.
Thanks again. john
OK, ALL plugin’s deactivated… no change.
As I was getting this on and off again depending on my site (I was using nextgen on 3 or 4 different sites) I assumed it was the “update database prompt” or something linked to it. In some cases I had that prompt at the top of my dashboard and had to do it a couple of times ultimately doing it after I upgraded.
All that is probably hooie however because I just installed NextGen in a brand new site, not on local host, and I got the list NOT the tabs. Will try deactivating plugin’s and see if any of them conflict.
Well, it looks like my theme is putting all of the buttons into a “li style” that is shared with other elements in the css, so they are the width of the sidebar each. I “think” this is what’s going on but have no idea how to fix it. These things always boil down to a theme styling issue. go figure
I’m having a similar problem. Icons align vertically NOT horizontally. Have setting at 32px images, no text. Not sure why it’s doing this.
