I’m not sure exactly what happened, but it seemed like godaddy’s auto-install created problems with my wordpress install when I tried to migrate my locally hosted database. When I manually installed wordpress through my ftp (filezilla), I was able to see my site in the root, as well as successfully migrate my data (after I find/replaced all instances of localhost with my domain name).

I would recommend to anyone trying to do what I did to just manually install WP instead of using the automatic method. It is pretty much just as easy.

p.s. make sure you also migrate all of your image files in the wp-content folder, and also make sure that there is an .htaccess file in the root.

    Thanks!
