I’ve been experiencing this issue too, and would love to know how to reduce the time between the wp_mail call and emails actually being sent out. Is this due to the email sending action being triggered with the WP Cron?
Optimally I’d like to be able to send the email immediately. I have registration emails which users are not receiving for long enough for them to complain about the email never getting delivered.
