Thanks for the reply! Following your directions, it seems that W3 Total Cache was causing the issue. Rather, I suspect it was a conflict with WTC and the Google PageSpeed Nginx module.

Anyway, the issue is resolved and Google PageSpeed thinks it’s loading a bit faster. Win win!

I see that Cloudfront supports wild card (*) invalidations – any plans to implement that?

– What actions should be avoided to not incur these expenses again in the future

I’m pretty familiar with WordPress and I’m comfortable editing files but I’m struggling here. I really think the hidden menu adds a touch of elegance and I’d like to implement it on my site. I’m using a child-theme for my changes.
