In reply to: Page preview and update intermittently not working.Thanks. The problem doesn’t seem to happen when I switch to the default theme, so I’m inclined to believe the problem is with my theme. Not the answer I was looking for because my whole site is written with this theme’s functions & shortcodes. I can’t just switch to Twenty Sixteen and not rewrite the entire website. ??
Let’s hope the folks who wrote the theme Salient have an answer for this.

In reply to: WordPress DisasterI should point out that I run a few other instances of wordpress in different directories to test out design and they’re both working fine. Through my hosts interface, both of those wordpress installations show up but not the main one. I think my database may have been corrupted. Is there any way to test/ fix this?

In reply to: Disable returns line breaksEditing a post or page in the wordpress editor. I want to be able to write something like this:
<img src=”https://image1.jpg”>
<img src=”https://image2.jpg”>
<img src=”https://image3.jpg”>And have each image be on the same line like normal html.
Instead WordPress will interpret each of the returns in the code as line breaks on the page/post, causing each image to appear on a different line.
I need WordPress to behave like a normal html editor and NOT convert any of my carriage returns. When I want a line break, I’ll use the tag. Any help is immensely appreciated.

In reply to: [Easel] How to automatically display comments in blog posts?Thanks– I searched that term but the results weren’t as straightforward as I was expecting. ??
I think it’s right for me. I’ve only averaged 4 or 5 one-sentence comments the past few years so I don’t see how having to read that becomes cumbersome from a content or visual design standpoint. However, back when I first launched and was getting dozens of comments, I would have agreed with you.
Did you mean cumbersome on the backend? Like from a coding standpoint?
In any case, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

In reply to: [Easel] How to automatically display comments in blog posts?Yea, but I don’t want only 1 blog post on the home (well first) page. I like to have 3 or 4 posts showing.
So I guess I’m answering my question now, but there is probably no way to display comments under blog posts if you want to show multiple posts on a page, huh?

In reply to: [Easel] How to automatically display comments in blog posts?Hm– I guess I may have phrased my question wrong. (And posted in the wrong place, since this may not be an Easel issue.)
Yes, comments show below the pose in direct links to the post itself. But what I want is for the comments to show on the blog main pages. Basically I want comments visible without a user having to click the post title link or the “10 comments” link.
Is this even possible in wordpress?

In reply to: [NSFW] Mobile versions of my blog display spammy gobbledegookYea mine was just in the Header.php file, accessible through the Editor in the Dashboard. You checked there and couldn’t find it?

In reply to: [NSFW] Mobile versions of my blog display spammy gobbledegookThanks a lot, Djpuzzle, you were right– it’s in the header. Some crap called “Wonderful Ad Box Loader.”
I deleted it and am now changing my password. Thanks again.

Again, the weirdness only appears on the iphone. I just checked it on the iPad and it looks normal.
Djpuzzle, your site doesn’t show the spam on my iphone. Did you fix it?

In reply to: E-Mail NotificationsOh wait– I’m discovering this may be a g-mail issue. I just saw some of the comment notification e-mails in my spam folder.

In reply to: E-Mail NotificationsIronically not since April 1. Since then I’ve received about 12 non-spam comments with no e-mail notification. And they’ve all just automatically posted themselves, without approval.
Also, I forgot to mention– even before this date, I’d log into wp-admin and find that I have comments waiting for approval– but received no email letting me know when they were originally written!

In reply to: Blocking SpammersThanks! I installed the plugin, but I’m going to see if the Comment Blacklist is adequate for my needs. Thanks again!
