At long last, the developer seems to be back in business. This problem was solved by navigating to the plugin’s CSS editor and clicking “Update.” Glad it’s so simple. Demerits for no response from the author.

Found a workable solution besides short codes (which totally work, but with the number of these I have to post, my functions file would get insane!):

Take out line breaks between the <option> </option> lines, and the <select> tags don’t appear.

Still a pain, but at least it works. Marking this topic resolved, but the bug still exists.

I suppose that might be an okay short term solution, but what I really need to know is how to deal with the patch that supposedly exists on Trac? Can’t find instructions anywhere as to what to do with the information on the bug report. Because this is definitely a bug that needs fixing!!

Though, honestly, it might be easier for you to find some development space online as an intermediary between your localhost work and going live to the client. My standard practice is to use an unlisted subdomain on the client’s site – example, dev.clientsite.com.

Or you could set one computer or the other up as a webserver and serve the site from there. But that sounds hard. ??

What I’m looking for is code to do this:

AND post has multiple categories
THEN don’t show any widgets

I don’t know if I need to add that to the Display Widgets plugin, to the Widget Logic Plugin, or to my sidebar in general. And I don’t know how to write that particular function.

Sorry, Zulf, your post is too late and actually completely unhelpful. See the simple solution I found in my post above. I do appreciate your attempts, but your explanations make things much more complicated than they need to be.
