This isn’t something that is built in to the current version, but it shouldn’t be difficult to offer that as an option in the next version. I’ve added it to the feature request board. Note that when I release a new version and am able to include a new feature or option that is the direct result of a request, I’ll try to note that in the version release notes by calling your username out with an @thevolkinator in the release notes themselves. Thanks for the feedback.

This feature isn’t yet included, but I’ve added it to the feature request board and will do my best to see what I can do. Thanks for the feedback.

@thevolkinator, this is done because the columns are resized dynamically via jQuery whenever they’re using the three-across table format. Otherwise, those with very long bios create too much white space for a three column layout to make sense.

If you’d like to modify the default spacing on the three column layout, there is functionality within the plugin that allow you to define your own CSS class to be applied to the layout. In your case, you’d want to override the featured-boxes class.

    Hope that helps.

@brekhusr, I wanted to let you know that I have been able to reproduce this bug, and the fix will be included in the next update of the plugin. I have been very busy with some other projects, but I hope to get a bug fix release pushed out by the end of January 2015. Thanks for the patience.

Thanks @brekhusr. I’ll try to get my vm running this weekend with this particular setup and see if I can reproduce.

@glacomo, the photo that you want to use as the profile photo should be added in the “Featured Image” section of the post. If you try that, and still have an issue, please return and let me know.

@brekhusr – if you can send me a list of the other plugins that you have installed and active, I’ll do my best to reproduce the issue. It sounds on the surface like maybe there is more than one active plugin causing a compatibility issue. Any information you can provide that is specific to your environment will help me track it down so I can fix it.

RE: the Trello board – you must create an account with Trello before you are able to comment on the support boards (Trello rule, not mine). Once you’ve created an account, you should be able to post bug reports or feature requests – but please let me know if you can’t.

@jbuscall – not sure why it would only have an issue with the shortcode – I’ll see if I can set up a localized environment and reproduce the error.

Thanks @jhoffmcd. I am getting ready to begin work on the next version of the plugin. I’ll do my best to get this feature added, as I’ve wanted CSV import as well. Thanks for the feedback.

@kwgardiner, to your two questions, neither is built in to the functionality at this time. You could work around sorting by last name by using the sort order functionality, but that could be a pain with a large list.

I added both of your requests to the feature request board and I’ll do my best to get them in the next release.

@dmkjr, I believe that the latest releases, with the introduction of category support, does what you’re talking about here. Download it and give it a try. I’ll mark this as resolved for now. If that’s not *exactly* what you need, then pop over to the feature request page and describe exactly what you’d like to see, and I’ll see about getting it added to the next version. Thanks!

@kwgardiner – If you go the FSDirectory in your settings menu, and choose “No” under the drop down next to “Apply CSS skin to thumbnails”, then the plugin will respect the featured image on the profile as you entered it without any skinning or resizing.

Another option is to leave the CSS styling turned on, but then override the ‘fspic’ class, which is what determines how the images are styled. You can do this by defining your own fspic CSS class that displays the image however you’d like using the faculty-staff-style-override.css file in the /css directory of the plugin code.

If you don’t have access to modify plugin files directly on your server, you can use another free plugin of mine, CSS Theme Override. Once this plugin is activated it will give you a text area box in the plugin admin that will let you specify your own fspic class.

I’ll mark this as resolved, but if none of these solutions work for you, please come back and let me know.

You can use the CSS override in settings to modify the classes to do whatever you like with the photo. The photos are auto resized by default to keep the list items of reasonable size, and if a pic is oddly proportioned it can look funny unless you override the CSS.

The latest release supports associating a category with a profile and will output by category. Does that help?

I wanted to chime in with a “me too” post. What I’ve tried so far (with no success):
    – Modification of the user meta to a:1:{….
    – Replacement of wp-includes/wp-admin
    – Deactivation of all plugins
    – Repair of the database itself
    – Creation of new admin user, deletion of previous admin users, and then recreation

None of these attempts corrected the problem. For some reason, I’m not sure why, the site just began showing ALL users, regardless of assigned permissions a “Submit for Review” button rather than “Publish”.

An attempt to save a page/post with “Submit for Review” results in it not actually getting written to the database – so the content is essentially lost.

Also, though there are already existing posts in the wp-posts table, if you view “Posts” in the admin, it will tell you “No Posts Found”.

I am just about to completely destroy the site and try to restore from backup, as I’m seemingly out of other options – but given that I’ve no idea what caused this problem, nor how to prevent it again, I’m obviously not thrilled about this proposed solution (nor are my users).
