…I can’t believe that WP has messed this up so badly and for so long (over a year).

All we want is line breaks. Is that really too much to ask?

When I did what cutout suggests in one of the threads above I thought I’d solved the problem (for a moment), because when I clicked on html button and manually added and then update, the line break were still there, and when hit html again they were still there too, but as soon as I actually hit save and viewed the page, there were no line breaks!

I’ve tried changing some of the parameters in the tiny_mce.js file too, but to no avail.

Please, please, please, someone fix this bug!

I’m on WP 2.0.2 but from what I hear from friends 2.1 still has this problem.

Pasting the following into my .htaccess file worked for me ??

#Change upload limits

php_value memory_limit 34M
php_value post_max_size 33M
php_value upload_max_filesize 32M
php_value max_execution_time 600

I reckon that maybe all my permissions need changing or something?

hmz, I don’t seem to have a cache directory

There is a cache.php file in wp-includes, but no directory anywhere I can see.

Also, looking in the admin interface I can’t see anywhere to enable of disable caching. Am I going blind?

hmz, why does this topic have [resolved] in the title?

I’ve not resolved the problem myself, and if kevinaltizer has done so, it would be good to know what he/she did so that I can do it too!

To be honest, while WordPress is a fantastic piece of software that I use to run a number of sites, it is designed to be a good blogging tool and one quite quickly and quite often gets stuck if you’re trying to build a portal with it.

I would suggest you check out drupal, which is what I use for that sort of stuff and is also a very nice piece of software.

Hmz, acutally, reading the original post again the “In which file do you add the html code they give you?” would seem to imply that they are not talking about the firefox extension.

Anyways, if anyone know how to change the html that the performancing firefox extensions sends to WordPress (or how to get WordPress to not add line breaks to it – I’m not sure at which stage it happens) that would be great.

I didn’t start this thread, but if I did, I would be referring to the performanccing firefox extention (and I guess whoever started this thread is too).

When I use it (the performanccing firefox extention ), I always have to got back into WordPress and edit out line breaks that get inserted.

I’m assuming DanW is having similar problems and would like to know how to sort this out. As would I ??
