I just upgraded from 2.2.0 to 2.2.2.

Problem still exists.

Biography (description) field does not present HTML edit UI. The textarea control also does NOT preserve HTML. I can manually insert HTML to style — e.g., to make something italic, and after updating profile ONE TIME, the styling is there. However, when I attempt to edit profile a SECOND time, the HTML is gone.

– “Enable HTML” is checked – in both the form’s customization and in Settings -> Appearance -> Profile.

– “Show user description in profile header” is unchecked – in both the form’s customization and in Settings -> Appearance -> Profile.

I select “No” for set “Show user description in profile header”, but when I update the form, the option reverts to “Yes”.

This is interesting: When I visit my profile page, the user description does NOT appear in profile header, but the word “Yes” appears there.

Also, the biography (description) field is still not preserving HTML, and it does not display the HTML editor interface. I added some simple HTML (bold text) and saved. The text showed as bold. When I RE-edited my profile, the html was gone.

I think you were right about the cache, Peter. I haven’t seen any blocks for directory traversal since yesterday morning. Thank you.

(And I’m guessing that the space character before the “?” might have defeated the Allowlisted URLs rule…)

Thansks for your prompt reply.

A. Even though I’ quite sure I removed the space in my code, and even though “View Source” and “Inspect Element” do not show a space before the “?”, WordFence Live Traffic is still reporting the blocks — and the items show the ‘%20’.

B. I had already done what you recommended re Allowlisted URLs. The blocks still show.

C. The user who reported issues with the page was not blocked from the page itself; the issue is that the thumbnail images were suppressed. And that user only had the problem with Mac/Safari; thing were fine on Mac/Chrome.

D. Prior to removing the space character, and using a private/incognito Firefox DE window (in which I was NOT signed into WP as admin), I also was not able to see the thumbnails. Once I removed the space character and refresed the browser, the thumbnails appeared properly using that private window.

E. Curious: If you visit the page, do you see thumbnails?

Update –

On closer inspection, I’m seeing a space character (‘%20’) between ‘php’ and the ‘?f…’. It looks like this in Live Traffic:

I reformatted the code in my script to remove any blank spaces. I’ll watch the dashboard to see if I’ve eliminated the problem.

I’m having the same problem and await a fix.

I use your plugin on pretty much every site I build.

Can you advise as to whether you are still actively supporting this plugin and intend to going forward? Thanks.

Simple. I set the menu item in question to align left. Can’t tell you why. I must have been thinking about the SUB-menu items.

So, I’m fixed.

I see that the 6004 code is for WordPress updates.

And it is checked in settings. But I see no event logged showing the update.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I do understand your reluctance.

Maybe consider adding it as a premium extension. That way: (a) you’d get paid for it, and (b) inexperienced users (who, presumably, would not purchase the extension) would not be confused by it. (I’d buy it!)

What I envision is simply a row of boxes above the normal first row, into which one could enter class names.

After our emails back and forth, I updated .htaccess and wp-config.php as per the Netword Setup instructions. I then added a new post, and things seem to be working.
