Hi Elvis,
No problem – thanks for your reply!
It turns out I was already using the default title and description for each of these 9 galleries. Apparently, the replacement of the description in the first image still occurs.
Hope you can think of another solution – thanks again!
Best regards,
Johan
Hi Elvis,
Sorry about that – I thought I added my gallery page to my message as attachment.
Here it is: https://www.johanderooij.nl/bekijk/
Edit: I just checked them again and now discovered the galleries actually double each first image: one time with the replaced text from the override and one time with the correct text.
Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
Johan
That works perfect – thanks, Bradvin!
Hi, thanks for your response!
I am indeed using the single thumbnail gallery – and have used this suggestion to prevent the thumbnail from being shown as the first image of the gallery.
When I temporarily upgrade to version 1.4.27, the Override Description that I have for each thumbnail (‘psychologisch drama’, ‘experiment’, ‘in opdracht’, etc.) is also applied to the first image (which the Custom URL of the featured image links to).
My settings on the Captions tab of the first gallery:
– Override Title: (empty)
– Override Description:<div align=”center”>
<font color=”#fff”>
psychologisch drama
</font>
</div>– Title: Default
– Description: Default
– Limit Caption Length: NoCaption for the first image of the first gallery now reads:
psychologisch drama
Caption for the first image of the first gallery should be (per the caption and description of the image):
Degradatie
Gepubliceerd in Eppo Stripblad. Tekeningen: Charles Guthrie.By the way, I also gave this caption and description to the featured image (which linked to the first image). If I try to replace that with the description from the override, the caption on both the thumbnail and the first image disappear.
Hope this helps you to better understand the problem, please let me know if you need to know more. Thanks again!
