In reply to: [OceanWP] Bug – Category descriptionHi,
That worked great, thanks! ??
I placed the code in style.css in the child theme. I’m not a coder, is this the best place for the code?Cheers!

In reply to: [OceanWP] Bug – Category descriptionHi, yes,
This page:
https://dev.rhodesgreece.org.uk/hotels
Only some categories have descriptions but they are displaying in full under each hotel category.
Disabling ‘Grid/list Buttons’ fixes the problem.
Regards
Also the excerpt length setting only affects list layout not the descriptions that appear in grid layout

In reply to: [OceanWP] Bug – Category descriptionHi, thanks for fix ??
I Found a related issue not major ??
I create top level category pages using the Woocommerce short code as in the following example:
[product_categories per_page=”12″ columns=”3″ ids=”208, 207, 206, 205, 202, 214, 217, 212, 220, 225, 203, 219, 222, 221, 231, 213″]
If ‘Grid/list Buttons’ is Enabled and Default Catalog View is set to Grid View then the full category description is displayed under each category in Grid View.
(Appearance -> Customize -> Woocommerce ->archives -> Toolbar, Grid/list Buttons)

In reply to: [WP Sitemap Page] Automatically excluded ‘Yoast SEO’ No index page?“On the other way, I’m surprised that such functionality does not exist in the Yast SEO plugin itself.”
That’s another story, YoastSEO recently improved the way this works with the XML sitemap, but doesn’t provide an html sitemap.

In reply to: [WP Sitemap Page] Automatically excluded ‘Yoast SEO’ No index page?I suggested this over 5 months ago
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/exclude-noindex-pages-from-sitemap-2/
but not received a reply, may have to find an alternative, which is a pity as otherwise this plugin works great. ??
Ok, no problem I’ll try minimizing the effect with cloudflare and minify settings.
Regarding the upcoming Maps Marker Pro 4.0, would the personal license cover use on one commercial site?
Thanks
John
Hi,
Yes if I set
Settings / Misc / Compatibility Settings
to “header+inline javascript”
then the maps display.I was trying to avoid having the javascript files load on all pages to avoid slowing the site down. Is this there anyway to avoid this?
Best regards
JohnJust to mention my site is currently set to the twentysixteen theme and here is a standard page with the map displaying:
https://base1.golasvegasusa.com/mytest
Here is the woocommerce page with the same map not displaying
https://base1.golasvegasusa.com/shop/hotels/the-strip/mirage-resort-casino-2
John
Hi,
Yes on my test site, this woocommerce page:
https://base1.golasvegasusa.com/product/mirage-resort-casino-2
just a basic map:
[mapsmarker mlat=”36.122197″ mlon=”-115.171625″]
and the map does not load, it loads ok in compatibility mode and also on standard posts and pages.
I’ve tested on other themes and other WordPress installs same results.
Best regards
John

In reply to: [Autoptimize] 404 autoptimize errorsI tend to do a lot of site tweaking and delete the cache quite often which I understand is not recommended when using autoptimize. This causes problems with with Googlebot trying to access old autoptimize cache js and css cache files.

In reply to: [Brizy - Page Builder] Cannot remove, Malware?Hi,
I resolved the issue by deactivating and then removing the Unison Plugin which was installed as part of my theme, but I’m not making use of. The issue may have been a caching issue and is now hopefully resolved. Thanks

In reply to: [Autoptimize] 404 autoptimize errorsHi Frank,
Yes, Autoptimize does work very well it has improved page load speed very well according to Google Page speed Insights. Although the results are not always consistent which is probably due to the state of the cache and whatever else is going on in the server at the time. Yes agree the truth is in the test results, lots of test results! ??John

In reply to: [Autoptimize] 404 autoptimize errorsHi Frank,
Thank you for the prompt answer, much appreciated.
I’m using Siteground hosting and use there caching options and Cloudflare.
Siteground advised me to remove WP Super Cache from my site as it was clashing with their own cache. Also Cloudflare has options to minimize js, css amd html, that’s another reason I removed Autoptimize. It can be quite confusing at times especially since Siteground had previously said that their cache would complement WP Super Cache. Sometimes it just seems like trial and error to see what works best.
Thanks for posting the link to the fix, I’ll have a look at it.
