But, why would the items I listed, with the exception of permalinks work fine in 1.2 but not 1.5?

I appreciate the help. I’ll look at other blogging options, in case I can’t get this to work.

I went into admin, pasted exactly what you typed into the Options/Permalinks Structure field and clicked “Update Permalink Structure”. Is there anything else I need to do, because everything gives me a 404. I also have /categories in the Category Base, but I also tried it without it.

I called and asked and they said that mod_rewrite should work.

I don’t really understand the whole process fully, but a .htaccess file is created and WordPress stuff is in it.

I’ve tried removing “/%category%/ and I get 404’s for everything link related, then. I’ve read through tons of posts about the permalink issue and none of them have work for me.
