For now I turned off deep-linking at the module level, since we have press looking at this. But it is an issue that need to figure out what’s wrong with it

My theme (Kaboodle by Woo themes) has 4 custom posts types–two of them show up on the SEO Ultimate list, and two don’t–including one of the ones I’d like to turn off.

Perhaps this theme is doing something funky and not using a different post types? (I come from the Drupal world, so not sure how post types work in WordPress.)

Anyway–for now I can get by with the <span> workaround, and I suspect this issue is a peculiarity of this theme… not worth trying to fix.

Ah–discovered that 1) I can’t easily hide the link with <span color:””> tags because Deeplink feature creates the link after evaluating the text (something like that apprears to happen)

2) Inserting <span> tags around the first word of the phrase cuts out the link–probably because SEO ultimate now sees it as “facebook</span> insights” rather than “facebook insights”

however, this shortcut only works because it’s a two-word phrase. A single word would still be deeplinked unless there’s an opt-out mechanism that works on custom post types

On my website, the first slider has the words “Facebook Insights” deep-linked–that’s the one I’d like to turn off.

(I’ve thought about just hiding the link through CSS, but prefer to actually remove the link)
