I have downloaded Filezilla @tabassumnaaz but still can’t get in as awaiting the hosting password and username which I don’t yet have.

Should I rename the installed plugins or just delete once in?

thanks @sinip just awaiting cpanel from friend as they made the hosting purchase however both the URL’s you posted don’t load either

@tabassumnaaz thanks again, the only problem is the website https://www.monkton-reserve.org is not loading at all, even when I try https://www.monkton-reserve.org/cpanel

thanks – do you mean a file manager like filezilla? i have just downloaded it but i haven’t currently got the hosting / cpanel username and password. I was just thinking of deleting the plugins I installed yesterday, once I hopefully get in – as they are not doing what I need them to do anyway.

Yikes, I can’t load it either. I am wondering if I have done something that has caused this. I can’t even get on to the dashboard to see or tell you the plugins. Any help appreciated!

A friend has resolved this for me. He asked if it started after I upgraded to WP3 and said if so, and I had the plugin ‘Redirection’ to try disabling it.

I had upgraded ages ago but tried disabling ‘redirection’ plugin anyway and it worked. ??

Thanks for your reply, yes a few friends asked me about that but when I checked ‘latest posts’ is selected. Have you any other ideas what the problem may be? Really worried I’ve lost a years worth of posts (tho they are still on the dashboard).

I have been advised by a friend to go to general settings on my wordpress dashboard. I had ‘anyone can register’ ticked so have unchecked that now. Other than that I have changed my own password. I have no idea why this has been done. It doesn’t look like a user can change anything, but I could be wrong.

I can delete themes form there. also how would I get to phpadmin if I can’t access my dashboard – is there another way?

I didn’t change the footer link but how would I upload a fresh footer.php too if I can’t get into my dashboard?
