In reply to: just another photoblogTake a look at PixelPost. I’ve just started playing with it and it is very good, especially for uploading a pic or two at a time, for a daily (or less frequent) photoblog. It doesn’t do albums, but then, I didn’t want albums.

In reply to: Pictpress uploading is driving me insaneI’m not sure what your problem is. You have to upload the images manually to a directory with the same name as the “slug” of the post that you want to have the images in. At least, that’s how I think it works.

In reply to: PictPress row alignmentIt is something to do with the placement of the (more) link, but I can’t work out what just yet.
Looking at the source of the gallery page with all the thumbnails, there is an empty link between two thumbnails in the same place as the (…more) link on the post itself. This is the problem. I don’t understand why it is there, and I do no know enough PHP to identify the part of Pictpress.php that is inserting the empty link.
If anyone could help I would be most grateful.
Thanks.

In reply to: an idea to spoil spammers “work”Well, I’ve done it. And I suggested that someone (I don’t have the skill) track and graph the Wikipedia page’s ranking to see whether we are having any impact.

In reply to: Mozilla Compatibility IssueAbsolutely terrible in Safari. Probably the same problem as you describe for Mozilla. No styling whatsoever.

In reply to: Google and comment spam: rel nofollow tagIn practical terms, what does this mean? How do I add that rel=”nofollow” to links in my comments section?

In reply to: Putting an RSS feed on a “page”?I use a service at Maricopa that will create the feed for you. See this thread.

In reply to: I need some geeky ideasI really like that thing you do with the chrysanthemum, or whatever the flower is, when it goes behind the sidebar.

In reply to: Incorporating information from another blogIndeed the service at Maricopa is very useful for putting an RSS feed on your page if you do not want to get involved with your own installation of Magpie. I’ve just used it to put a feed of my del.icio.us links 0n my WP blog https://wp.jeremycherfas.net/ and it worked beautifully.
Styling the feed can be a little tricky, but the site helps you to do that too.

In reply to: New Anti-Spam toolThanks Kitten. I deleted it and everything is back to normal. But I don’t have time right now to check whether Spaminator was the culprit.

In reply to: New Anti-Spam toolI’m not sure if Spaminator is the culprit, but I installed it yesterday and now I cannot see anything at all on my site. I’ve checked that index.php is there, and it is, but basically I am getting a blank page. I can’t even login as admin to deactivate the plug-in because I can’t see the link to do so.
Help! How can I log in? Once I’ve done that, I will check whether it is Spaminator.
JeremyThanks Curioso.
I went in and edited the post, and found that PictPress was looking in another directory, one that I think I had set beore for WP uploads. When I moved the flowers folder there, it worked. I was misled by the wp-content folder. That is not my upload folder, apparently.
I’m very happy!Ooops. That was me, above, not logged in.

In reply to: WordPress 1.2 One Click BackupThis plug-in is great. Thank you.
Question: The read me says not to use this for daily archival. So what is the recommended procedure for daily archive? I’m interested in being able to restore to the state before I start messing with CSS and Plug-ins and stuff, if I screw up completely.
Thanks.
