i am having the same problem. i installed a new plugin (feedburner_feedsmith) to my directory (wp-content-plugins) and it shows up there . but when i go to my admin panel on my blog and go to plugins it doesn’t show so i can’t activate it.
phew…it’s a drag. i too have other plugins installed and working fine. eg. never had this problem when i installed wordpress stats plugin.

i am having EXACTLY the same problem. sorry to say i have no idea why this should be happening. for reference purposes, the plug-in i downloaded to wp-content / plugins / was feedburner_feedsmith

sorry,no. i don’t have ISAP_I rewrite and will not be getting it. too technical for me. and i don’t use ISS either. i don’t have my own server. i am hosted. newbie, non-techie working from home
BUT maybe you will be kind enough to help me? since customising permalinks using settings in admin panel, my URL (greenassembly.net)appears twice in every permalink on every post on my site.

what do I have to do to make my URL appear only once? thank you njuptsoz if you can help

i’m hoping Moshu might be kind enough to advise. i’ve tried to help myself. i’ve read using_permalinks.
the Permalinks for my Posts is showing my URL TWICE. but the Permalinks for my Pages show my URL only once which is how it should be, right?
I think this “problem” started when I tried to beautify my permalinks. the line I used when I typed into custom permalink structure in Settings, was:
https://greenassembly.net/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%category%/%postname%/

still unresolved. it seems to be going in phases / batches. stuff that i posted two days ago has now started appearing. stuff that i posted this afternonn is not. i wonder if anybody out there can make some helpful suggestions.

i noticed that you first posted your problem 5 months ago and never got a reply from anyone. looks like i may have to wait a while for help. glad the house isn’t on fire! by the way, you said your problem startede after upgrading. i’m wondering if my problem is anything to do with customising my permalink structure which i did 24 hours before my “posts not showing on home page” problem started. could just be coincidence, i don’t know.

i am having exactly the same problem. my last 8 posts are showing published, but they are not showing up on my home page.
i’m wondering how you managed to resolve this?

otto42, chaoskaizer, jenmiller and scribu: thank you all very much for your suggestions. i’m glad to say i got rid of the offending widget, as follows:

Dashboard > Design > Widgets > Current Widgets > Select Relevant Sidebar > Show > Edit > Remove > SAVE CHANGES.

i’m a happy man again

many thanks scribu, but on my screen clicking on the widget doesn’t open a remove option. this probably sounds really lame, but i can temporarily solve the problem by usinbg a different theme.

hi marion: did you ever find a solution to this problem? i too can not find a way to delete a widget and am tearing my hair out. it seems like it should be so simple.

I too don’t know how to delete a widget. It’s strange that nobody seems to have an answer to this. Have you had any luck on this? Have you found a solution?

I am having the same problem! I added an Archive widget to sidebar 1 and now i want to delete it. I see that you posted 3 months ago. Did you find a solution? Can you tell me how to delete a widget? Many thanks.
