i can vouch for this plugin too. i have used for over a year and for 1000’s of orders with not a single problem outside of a few minor api issues in the earliest versions.
it sounds like the issues described are related to electrum not the plugin.
if you suspect a “scam” then run some tests. buy a few of your items and simply check the btc address that is displayed at payment checkout and run this command in electrum command line to see if the address is part of your wallet/MPK that you setup in cryptowoo settings.
if the address is present in your electrum wallet then the funds are safe, you simply need to get electrum to display the address in your wallet. i can help troubleshoot that part if you provide more details on your problem. its likely a mismatch between the viewed addresses that cryptowoo is using vs the addresses that electrum currently shows in your view.
worst case scenario, if you have “lost funds”, i can tell you how to just run a simple sweep command of the private key.
the nice part about this plugin is the fact that no middleman can touch your funds. so a “scam” would be close to impossible unless the developer planted a malware-type virus inside the plugin or something like that. but again, just check the addresses that are getting displayed at checkout and you can easily see whether buyer is asked to pay an address of your electrum wallet or not.
every other plugin requires a 3rd party touching your btc. so thank god for this plugin. please dont spread mis-information accusing somebody of a scam without being sure. a scam claim should include some proof that somebody stole your funds.
thanks cryptowoo for this plugin – your seriously god-send for this as id have to use a 3rd party and pay a percentage without you!

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Payments do not confirmunfortunately this plugin is not up to date with block explorers and standard woocommerce cron jobs.
ud basically have to figure out what block explorer works for ur setup and then customize the code of the plugin to call on that blockexplorers api to do the confirms. i tried doing it but was never successful about a year ago. its not impossible just not really worth the effort to keep chasing the blockexplorers as they seem to just break again a few months later.
Cryptowoo plugin is the only real option out there.
I keep hoping that this plugin will be set straight again as its nice to have multiple middleman-less projects but this plugin keeps on being a crap shoot at best.
check out cryptowoo for something that is actively developed and actually works. plus has a whole bunch of additional features that are obvious pluses.
its likely just not shown in the display but it is there.
Try to set ur gap limit in electrum to a higher value so that it displays more of ur addys.
u know how the addys disappear when an old addy has had a transaction go thru it? then its replaced by a fresh addy in the display.
well, thats kinda what is happening to u most likely. again, all the addys are there, its just not displayed yet because electrum only shows the first 5-10 by default.
increase gap limit to 20-30 addys.

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] payment never times out or completes?its a drop in the bucket paying for the cryptowoo plugin..
u have a dev who supports u and doesnt make u spend 100 hours pulling ur hair out.
u have a system that is obviously being built to be flexible and future proof in many different ways.
and its officially actively still being developed as opposed to half in and half out the door.
i believe cryptowoo (+ the old gesman plugin were the ONLY two publicly available plugins that REALLY did middleman’less payments with btc.
I heard of a million different plugins that supposedly did this but literally NONE of them really did. Either they were cheap ripoffs of the gesman plugin or they were completely tied into some proprietary API or service which meant they either broke easily because they were so dependent on shoddy services or were trying to trick the fools to somehow pay a %.
I really like the cryptowoo model and i cant praise it enough. It’ll likely get nicer as time goes along and people grow their sites on it and get good feedback together + enhancement requests, etc.
We cant really expect this stuff to be free and id urge everybody not to bootleg this plugin, pay the reasonable fee and contribute help or money beyond that otherwise we wont have this thing forever.

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] payment never times out or completes?Cryptowoo is amazing and we gotta support the guys who make AND support plugins like that.
Cryptowoo is totally middlemanless and it works and has tons of features. Dev is also supporting it consistently.
I unfortunately threw in towel with the gesman plugin. Its just too dificult getting much commitment and dev seems to think it works but it just doesnt.half the time.

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Payments stopped getting confirmedi have to remove the working gateway and reinstall the new version to say exactly but heres what i remember.
Basically, once i uninstalled another bitcoin gateway and installed your latest version, it would take me up to the check out page but then not show a QR code and give a debug error that was basically looking for the pro version of the bitcoinway plugin. i figured that there was something leftover from my original install a long time ago. Or the custom version i was running left something behind.
The way I understand that i should try a reinstall is to make sure i have the box checked to DELETE ALL SETTINGS before i actually delete/remove the plugin for bitcoinway plugin which is currently deactivated (im running some other plugin that allows bitcoin payments. Once I remove it, is there anything u can recommend i check to see if there is anything left hanging around like tables/fields? or should a reinstall take care of the rest. Ill have to report back the exact errors if it happens again. Any pre-guidance on checking that im starting with a clean db/system with no traces of old bitcoinway plugins would be great.
Or is there somewhere that I can see what that checkbox that removes all settings upon deleting plugin is actually supposed to do? that way i can check if its missing something or troubleshoot that way..
gesman – i get the sense that zero confirmations are no longer allowed or functioning.. is that true or am i reading into some comments incorrectly?

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] SyntaxError: Unexpected tokenThis error was supposedly caused by a recent woocommerce update, alaot of gateways complained about this error after woo released a recent version.cci dunno hpwhere it stands today but google it snd ull find alot of references to payment gateway oroblems causednby a woo version 4 months ago

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Support for electrum 2.5.1 MPKI can only speak for myself but for a long time the plugin referenced 1.9.8 mpk to generate unique pay address. Showed qr code. But i always had an issue with getting the api to return confirmation vales and have status fields updated, i got alot of cloudflare problems.
And i can tell u that other plugins suffer from the api problem too.. The api call limits seem to only like to accept X number of api calls a day and then they try to cut u off. And they fluctuate. So a api that works well today, might not work in a month.
What api is used now? U dont think thats the cause of any problems with the old plugin using the blockchaininfo api ?
Why was the electrum 2+ version mpk so important to get working? Its cool and all but i never really cared much that i had to use 198 v mpk.
Lemme checkout readme,txt,

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Payments stopped getting confirmedIfnai, can u tell me the steps u took to clean the db to prep for a fresh plugin install? I cant get the new gesman plugin to work and i think its cuz of residual db referencesnto an old version.
Can u give me some guidance?
I was running te old gesman plugin that i had self-band-aided into working. I checked that delete db box before deactivating and deleting, then i installed the new gesman plugin. Then i cleared client sessions.
But i get various errors..

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Payments stopped getting confirmedthat would be key i think to a self-sustainable plugin..
if u can get it to the point where it can choose API providers (maybe include a dropdown with a few of todays common providers that we know are friendly to api calls.
and it works as u say it does (which i certainly believe because i actually managed to get the old one to work properly and im nowhere close to a coder.
I pledge to donate $250 or buy the pro license for $250 whatever u prefer.
It would also be very helpful if u could explain if there really is any advantage to the pro version.
and i really hope the community supports gesman after the release of a revamped plugin. I don’t fault gesman for having to abort the project as im betting that the support was minimal and people have real lives.
In reality, a crowdfunded effort of ~$1200 is NOTHING compared to what this script can do if it functions right. Because I’ve asked over and over and heard nothing – what alternatives exist? None. Go to coinbase or bitpay and all pay far more than $1200 over time with their commissions.
So if we want long-term support and updates and gesman puts forth the initial effort out of good will, i think we need to make sure we support and intent maintenance of this project or im sure gesman will need to go back to real-life stuff to pay the bills.
don’t want to speak for u gesman but i imagine that if the community provides ongoing financial support, ur willing to keep this project going and keep it working and updated?

In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Support for electrum 2.5.1 MPKso a non-coder could swap out the API providers? Maybe im looking at wrong version but i don’t see where.. and i remember that was the one thing that killed me..i know its probably very simple dev stuff but the common guy would just want a few settings fields..
More generally, id like something self-sustainable.. i have to read recent forum posts but do u have an outline of what caused the breakdown to occur on the old version? I always assumed it was 90% API problems..
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce] Payments stopped getting confirmedThis was the thorn in my side with the older version.. gesman can confirm but my guess was the APIs coded into the plugin to do the check on balances and confirmations was hitting limitations and thus cutting off future calls.
Id like to see the plugin have an easy way to choose between a few of the looser API providers (blockr.io block cypher coinkite for example.
until that happens, im betting that this problem comes up every few months..
