In reply to: Flickr badge on sidebarHi, gang.
I just followed the instructions in this thread and got no change whatsoever in the appearance of my blog–there’s no Flickr badge.
Any thoughts?

In reply to: Linking to other blog entryYou mean–using my example:
<a href="/blog/?p=136">"/blog/?p100"</a>

In reply to: Linking to other blog entryAhh…Ok. Thanks.
So for relative, for example–my blog is at https://www.jerrypettit.com/blog and an entry would be something like https://www.jerrypettit.com/blog/?p=136.
If I want to link it to item “?p=100, would would be the relative path?
Thanks in advance.

In reply to: Linking to other blog entryThat’s what I’m stuck doing, also.
Isn’t there something better?

In reply to: How show comments (without click) as default?…Because wouldn’t it be cool if you could do this?
Or maybe you can’t.
I wouldn’t know.
Not from anything I’ve learned HERE anyway.
Anyone?
Anyone?

Is there a way of making comments visible by default?

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…Great, that did it.
What about the misspelled “Calendar”? I’ve been looking through the theme editor but can’t find the word to re-type. Any idea where specifically to look?
Thanks so much for your help!

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…And…I just noticed that this particular theme has the word “Calendar” misspelled. How does one fix that?!

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…Aha!
I ended up just changing themes, and when I did–I found that that “2006 Edgar Award Winners Announced” message was all screwed up. How can I delete that? If you look at it now at https://www.jerrypettit.com/blog, you’ll see–right above “A Vatican Official…”–remnants of my pathetic attempts to simply click the edit button and delete the post. (Which I had to try and delete twice. There were, somehow, 2 drafts or something? I had originally placed it in one category and then clicked edit to change it to another category. Is that a no-no?)
In any event–how do I “cleanly” get rid of the remnants of that post?
Thanks in advance.

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…Yikes! That didn’t do it. I’ve left up how it appears after putting in your code. Still bottom right and appears to have shifted over to the right a space or two.
Help!
Jerry
P.S. And what about that issue of when I changed to “classic” theme and–while the sidebar was now top right like it should be–the page ended right after a header and there’s no link to previous pages…?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…That’s where my sidebar code is. I didn’t use the Theme Editor to delete the blogroll. I used some page in Administration–don’t recall what it was…
Thanks again for your help. Looking forward to a solution!

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…Yikes–I just changed my theme for the first time from “default” to “classic” and I notice that the very last post on the page stops after the Title to the post, but there is no post nor any link to “Previous Entries” so that a person can look back at earlier posts (yet the sidebar was where it is SUPPOSED to be at top right!). How does one fix that horrible page split if I end up changing themes sometime?!!

In reply to: My Sidebar is not on the right but down…I’ve never done anything with HTML in my life.
Now I have for the first time–to no avail, and it scares me to mess with this. Please talk to me like a 4-year-old. Seriously.
Here’s what I did: Administration/Presentation/Theme Editor/Sidebar.
The first line I see there in the HTML code starts with <div>
So I just cut and pasted your </div> at the end of that first line. It’s still there (apparently you’re able to somehow see that–I can’t imagine how!). No change in where my sidebar is located, though.
When I go to the end of all of that code I see that a </div> is already there at the end of the file.
So what do I need to do (4-year-old steps, please). By the way, I had done NOTHING to make “some modification”, as you speculated. All I’ve done from the default of the theme was delete the “Blogroll”.
Thanks in advance.
