In reply to: [Easy Table of Contents] TOC not showing on homepageThanks a lot. Yes, it helps my site, but not my eyes! I looked up and down that advanced section and missed it every time.

In reply to: [Amazon Associates Link Builder] The plugin crashed my sitePlease forgive this interruption, but the only way I can figure out how to stop follow-up emails is to submit a response so I can un-check the notify box. My solution was to uninstall the plugin. One too many site crashes for me – again, the last one occurring just after I made my first qualifying sales and during my review process. My account was deleted because Amazon was “unable to verify my site” due to a fatal error. Bizarre timing. The number of hours it took to re-link under a new store-id was grueling. To add insult that injury, the woman who took my call said, “Our plugin was designed for WordPress. It’s not going to crash your site.” It didn’t matter that I had a screenshot of the error and the cause. No accountability. Draconian policy. Irritating.
I hope you get it worked out. I really liked how the links looked. Very polished. Even if you do, though, I’ll never install it again. I can admire it from afar if I come across it on someone else’s site.

In reply to: [Amazon Associates Link Builder] The plugin crashed my siteMine too is broken. And to add to that, I had just made my qualifying sales, so the site went into review. Because the site was broken, Amazon Affiliates rejected my application and won’t review it again.

In reply to: Visual editor not working after updateHi George, well I just published a NEW post and it worked fine. Odd because the post I showed you was working fine yesterday. Oh well, I guess I have to start over because there is a glitch in there somewhere. Thanks for your response.

In reply to: [Amazon Associates Link Builder] Access Key ID not working (revisited)Hello. Thanks for responding. I finally figured out what happened. I went into my Security Credentials from the Console (ignored the “get started with IAM”). I went back into the Access Keys section and realized that I had an active Access Key that had N/A in all of the cells. I made that inactive and deleted it. Once I did that, I created a new key (for the 3rd time) and generated my secret key. This time, I saved it so I could retrieve it if I need to. I entered it into the plugin settings and now it worked.
I remember seeing somewhere in the sea of posts I read on the topic that we can only have two IDs active. Even though the other one had never been used, it was hanging up my credentials. The problem for me was that I could create the ID/secret key despite that. An error message saying, “you must remove one id before creating another” would have saved me hours of time. OH well, live and learn.
All the best,
Hello again, now I’m getting this message when I try to save (not every time, but enough for it to be problematic):
Please configure your PA-API credentials in the Settings Page to use the Link Builder features.
Everything is already configured. This message seems to appear at random. And, I have not used this plugin for this post.
When I do get this message, the contents of my post completely disappears (to 0 words) and I have to back out 2 pages to get back to it. I have 8000 words in this super-post, so if it actually did do something to that precious content, that would not be good. I immediately made a copy of the post when I noticed this error, so I’m okay.

Hi there, my staging site still had the version with the bug. I just followed the directions and rolled back to the newer version and it’s working fine again. My layout is back to normal.
