In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Default value in Meta DescriptionOk, I tried on another site of mine, and adding a template text to the meta description filed in settings does indeed overwrite ALL published posts meta fields.
This should come with a warning imo. Some might interpret this field as being able to add a template text when creating new posts. Why don’t you have this option? For us who review games, for example, and greate loads of posts every day this would be super helpful.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Default value in Meta Description@611shabnam no, I am not trying to add any custom code. I am using basically the same meta description text in all my posts – I just change the title of the games I write about. So it would be nice to be able to add a template text to the meta description and then just have to change the title. As it is now, I have to copy and paste my meta description template text to the meta description box in the post editor every single time I create a new post. It feels like unnecessary work.
When I tried to add my template text in the meta description settings, it only applied to new posts when I create them. I can see my template when I create a new post but I do not see any changes in old posts (which is good and which makes sense). But I get confused with your replies as you seem to say that it will change ALL posts, even old posts. I don’t believe this is true and doesn’t make sense. Why would adding text there edit all 3000 posts? Why would anyone want to have the exact same meta description in all their posts.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Default value in Meta DescriptionOh, so if I would have added this code to the suggested area, all of my 3000+ posts would have been edited? Good thing I asked.
Edit: I just tried on a staging site and it seems you are wrong? It doesn’t edit old posts. It only adds the template meta description to new posts?
I need to know 100% though before making any changes on the live site.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Slow sitemapHi and thank you for your answer. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the server. The website is very fast and loads in 1.3s with a ttfb of 140ms. There are no issues at all really. It’s just when I use the sitemap I notice it is very slow to load for some reason.
