As long as you don’t use a cache plugin it should be live. When the page is loaded it increases the count by one and shows you the value. This will happen when you refresh the page the too, which is not ideal.

If you use a cache plugin then it will show the same value until the cache refreshes, probably periodically and when someone posts.

There is nothing like that built in.

It might be possible to filter the query to use the view counts. Or do a separate page with a custom query.

The count is stored in post meta so WP query should be able to order by this.

It’s something I could look at adding, perhaps a most viewed list widget.

I have added a new “location” that allows every 3 posts, 3 times. I’m afraid I won’t be able to accommodate every possible variation that is requested.

Added in version 0.5. It’s a bit of a hack to squeeze it into the post. I’m not sure there’s a way to filter the post content directly, it seems to include everything around the post too. Perhaps there’s a hook I haven’t spotted, or there will be a new one in the imminent release of bbPress 2.6.

So you can do “in post: right” or “in post: bottom”. Or both!

And getting it here too, did you ever find a resolution? Is it possible to clear the cache or something.

Hmmm, I wonder if there is a way to make it configurable. Changing it might spoil things for other people.

Did you get this working with custom post types?

I too use CPTs all the time so would need this feature. It probably wouldn’t be too hard to hack in if not included but it would be good if the author could do this.

There isn’t anything out of the box that does that. It could be added as an option I suppose.

You would have to be careful not to exceed Google’s limit on ads.

It would probably be safer to show ads after the 3rd, 6th and 9th posts and if someone shows more than 10 posts per page (can you do that in bbpress, i forget) it stops.

Forum owners would have to ensure there are no other ads on the page.

It’s not all that easy to slot the count in due to the natural variations in everyone’s themes but I’m always happy to try and improve this.
