In reply to: [WordPress Website Tools Plugin – AddThis] Not working in WP MUHi SecGen.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue.
You’re not the first to report this issue but I’ve tested this plugin in multisite and was unable reproduce it. Any more details you could provide, like JavaScript errors on the page or failed network requests in developer tools, would be immensely helpful. If you’d like to share this information with us privately, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
Thanks,
JulkaHi B1gJ4k3.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. It sounds like your theme is using the wpautop function on excerpts to automatically wrap lines in paragraph tags. Sometimes themes have an option to turn this off.
You can also experiment with the excerpt filter options in the plugin’s Advanced Settings. If you uncheck all of them, share buttons (and the extra paragraphs) will usually stop showing up above and below excerpts. If you want to be able to add share buttons above and below excerpts, you can experiment with the different excerpt options one at a time. Some of those excerpt filters may run after the theme is using wpautop, and thus be unaffected.
There is a remote possibility that unchecking all the excerpt filters still work remove the buttons. Some themes do things so drastically outside the standard ways that we can’t work around them.
Thanks,

Hi Erin.
Again, could you share a URL where you’re not seeing what you expect?
Thanks,
JulkaHi Erin.

JulkaHi k8peterson.
Thanks for letting us know about your issues.
I’m sorry to hear about the JavsScript error. I’m not seeing it on lifeinmichigan.com anymore, so it looks like we’ve fixed it since. If you’re still seeing this error on a specific page, please let me know.
It looks like you’re using the most recent version of Follow Buttons by AddThis and an older version of Smart Layers by AddThis. The Follow Buttons by AddThis plugin is only compatible with version 2.0.0+ of the Smart Layers by AddThis plugin. That’s why you’re seeing the script added twice. Updating your Smart Layers by AddThis plugin should resolve that issue.
Thanks,
JulkaHi Brian.

Unfortunately, we don’t support turning off the floating tools by post, only the tools added above and below content. I understand the language in the meta area is confusing and will see about getting it updated.
Thanks,
JulkaHi Joi.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue.
It sounds like your AddThis profile isn’t set up for WordPress. To change this, under your AddThis profile’s options (the “…” menu, then More…”, then Profile Type) there is a WordPress profile type. This will let you choose all the same above & below locations for inline tools.
One thing to be aware of: the hide on homepage feature at addthis.com is dumb. It doesn’t know what WordPress considers to be the homepage URL and will hide the tool on URLs that look like https://www.example.com/ but not https://www.example.com/blog. You can still hide it on your homepage by manually adding your homepage’s URL to the “Hide on these pages” section.
Thanks,
JulkaHi Marcaira14.
Thanks for reaching out to us. None of our plugins have shortcodes that support a URL parameter. I might be able to suggest an HTML solution, however. Is there a URL I could take a look at to better understand how you’re using AddThis tools? I you’d prefer to share to share privately, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Thanks,
JulkaHi Jory.
Thanks for letting us know about this issue. I will look into how we can automatically turn this off for AMP pages.
If you need this resolved now, you might want to try the Smart Layers by AddThis plugin. It has many of the same features as this one, but also includes a way to disable that XML namespace in the Advanced Settings.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Showing in WidgetsHi Graftedin.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. I’m not seeing any AddThis code in the “Feature A Page Widget” plugin. If there a URL we could look at that has some AddThis tools in a widget were you’re not expecting them? If you’d prefer to share privately, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Can i cuztomize widget icons?Hi Md.
Thanks for reaching out to us. This plugin doesn’t currently support customizing which share buttons services show up in the widget. You might be able to get what you’re looking for with the Smart Layers by AddThis plugin. It has many of the same features as this one, and you can use the same set of buttons in widgets as you configured for above & below posts.
Thanks,

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] I got a bit problemHi bilimokur.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. If looks like your theme is escaping HTML in excerpts which causes the code for the share buttons to show up like that.
This plugin doesn’t have a way to turn off that HTML on excerpts, but the Smart Layers by AddThis plugin does, if you’d like to give that a try. Within that plugin, the Advanced Settings page has a set of checkboxes for excerpt filters. If you uncheck all of them, that code should stop appearing on your excerpts. If you want to be able to add share buttons above and below excerpts, you can experiment with the different excerpt options one at a time. Some of those excerpt filters may run after you theme has finished escaping the HTML, depending on how they’re doing it.
There is a remote possibility that unchecking all the excerpt filters still work remove that escaped HTML. Some themes do things so drastically outside the standard ways that we can’t work around them.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Default On for pagesHi Susong.
Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, none of our plugins have the functionality you’re asking for.
You might want to consider trying the Smart Layers by AddThis plugin instead. That one has shortcodes that can be manually added above or below your content on whatever posts you want.
Thanks,
Julka
