When I visit your site now, it loads the “Home” article. What’s it not doing that it’s supposed to be?

What’s changed on your site since the 21st of March? Any plugin additions? The last two comments on your blog were from that day, but clicking on the comment link, or full article link does exactly as you describe.

Anything useful in the error logs?

So maybe deleting the page orphaned it? Try going back to blog. Save. Then go back to static page, see if that works.

Just to add: your /wp-admin/ directory is *not* properly protected. I’m able to access files in that directory, as well as the css and js directories.

You might want to run through the install instructions again to make sure you didn’t miss a step.

Aside from the numerous entries I probably just caused, do your webserver error logs show anything interesting, approximate to time you tried to login?

Try going to “Settings > Reading” and select the radio button for “A static page (select below)”.

Then in the “Front page” drop-down box, select the page you created/restored.

Can you look on your “Pages > All Pages > Trash” to see if the missing page is in there? If it’s there you should be able to restore it.

Otherwise you should be able to rename the page link of “home-2” by clicking the edit link on that page next to the “Permalink: https://29plus.org/home-2.” just below the input box for title of the page.

Your situation seems to fit in the “When Your Domain Name or URLs Change” section, second header down.

Just to clarify, do you get the 404 when you click on the link to login, or once you’ve filled in your credentials and clicked submit?

I looked at your site, played with the login link (which loads) and tried logging in with a bogus account to see if I could get it to serve a 404 error, and it didn’t.

If you’re getting a 404 *after* filling in the form and hitting submit, can you share the URL in the address bar on that page?

You can install themes (in the control panel under Apprearance) but you can’t upload custom themes. No plugins though, not of the free side.

If you already have the zip file decompressed on your computer, you can rename the “wordpress” directory to “blog” and upload it to your wwwroot directory.

From there just follow the installation guide and you should be good to go.

How about wordpress.com?

If you have access to the database and PhpMyAdmin installed (common on most shared hosting setups) you can manually go in and reset it.
