Thank you! I deactivated the plugin and things immediately started working as I wanted.

And double thanks for the heads up on the way outdated plugin, I’m looking for a current, supported alternative.

    Great plugin thanks

the image in the post above is linked to it, but right now i dont have it enabled as its a live site that gets traffic/leads and i dont want to lose business due to the toc issue. its active and live on the rest of my pages though other than the homepage eg https://www.realtimeleadgen.com/water-damage-restoration-leads

Just updated the plugin thanks. I see the option to check the box for

“Initial View Initially hide the table of contents.”

And updated the page, in this case the homepage…

And it is now no longer expanded to start when viewing the page, this is what its showing..it’s initially collapsed, which is better for what I want in some cases.

I linked the image to the page in question for reference. The only issue being, the toc does not expand when clicking on it. So I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding something that I need to do on my end?

Or if it’s a bug in the new update?

Also, having it initially collapsed like that is great thank you for that option, but I was more interested in having it not visible at all, but still having the jumplinks active.

Is that possible? On some pages I don’t want it visually on the page but I’d still like to be able to link to the specific jumplinks on the page internally from other pages on my site, as well as from external sites for more specific reference link depending on what the other page is about.

I should also note, I copied the jumplinks to a text file before enabling the new option. And they still work when I load them in my browser so that’s great, even though the TOC no longer expands and people can’t click on them that way.

    Thanks again

    1. How can I?get it to add my primary H1 tag into the toc? I only want one H1 and that’s already auto-inserted into my wordpress page via the title?– You can use the heading as an H1 tag if you want to use H1 only

I’m not quite sure what you mean here…I want to use my h2’s and h3’s as well…but as far as the h1 I was referring to the h1 that wordpress automatically inserts on the page via the title tag. The toc plugin doesnt seem to register that one….and it doesn’t make sense to add more than one h1 tag per page total

    1. And how can I?get the toc to be invisible on a per-page basis? I see in the main options I can toggle things there globally but how can I do that on a per-page basis while still having the jump links active, but the toc itself not showing up on the page at least if not toggled on??– Regarding this, we are working on it and it will be available in the next milestone 2.0.47 update:?https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/Easy-Table-of-Contents/issues/379

That’s great thanks, I’ll watch for that in the next update.

    1. We are unable to open the site, We are getting site cant be reached error even after try to check multiple times:https://prnt.sc/0FCz1HmSc9Xm?, Kindly check once and let us know back once its available to check.

I’m not sure what the issue would be there, that prnt screen link has a broken image…and I haven’t had any downtime that I can tell, the site is up now for me in multiple browsers and I checked it in a few 3rd party tools as well and they all show it as up and live.

    Thanks

i took a screenshot of adding that code https://www.pennwaterdamagepros.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/header.png …what did i do wrong? or what else might i need to do? as i cleared cache and reloaded and the button is still not showing up

it is an old theme which i love, but has been abandoned by the dev unfortunately so i do need to use find a current one to replace it

i checked the home page as well as a couple of inner pages as well as some blog posts…they all just have the sort of small static button in the bottom left of the screen once u scroll all the way down vs having it it show up right away all the time up front

    thank u

ok, deleted the theme and reinstalled it. the default settings have a default image in both of the areas im having problems uploading my own images to. they both come up fine, both in the wp dashboard theme area, as well as on the live site itself

i wish there was a way to just easily upload images here?

screenshots i took and uploaded to tinypic for reference
