I agree with Anthony. This is the one thing I’m missing compared to a full featured gallery. I want thumbs or whatever singlepic size I specify, then click on it to pop up an intermediate size (like 1024px or something) and then the option to view the full size.

Currently the popup opens the fullsize but resizes to fit the screen. This takes a long time to display large images…

For me, this problem was overcome simply by using ImageMagick instead of GD. May not be the same exact issue you’re experiencing, but it’s worth a shot if IM is available.
