In reply to: [Contact Form 7] reCAPTCHA Integration causing messages to be marked as spamThanks guys! I was having the same problem and didn’t know what the problem was. Then I did what SPECGEO suggested, and it works like a clock now! You saved me a bunch of headaches and work.

In reply to: Disable wp-cron.php?Thanks for your timely reply. I think we are almost there. I did download and save a fresh copy of wp-cron.php, and it does have 129 lines of code. I then triggered it and got the following msgs:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html xmlns=”https://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>
<head>
<meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″ />
<title>Database Error</title></head>
<body>
<h1>Error establishing a database connection</h1>
</body>

In reply to: Disable wp-cron.php?Thanks for your response. I guess, though, I need to know if there needs to be any coding at all in wp-cron.php, or is it enough just to trigger it every 6 hours? Currently, it’s an empty file. Does WP populate the file with anything as it needs to? Don’t forget, you are talking to someone who knows nothing about the workings of these files.

Problem solved! I just realized that I must select the wayward party from the unconfirmed list first. When I do that, the “send reminder email” button magically appears. I have to send reminders out so unfrequently that I forgot how it works.
Sorry for the bother,
Jim

In reply to: Style and Table variables being stripped while in "Visual" viewOK, I finally figured it out. I was missing a ‘<tr>’ before the ‘<tbody>’ parameter. I should have seen it earlier, but obviously I did not.

In reply to: 4.2 Upgrade – View Post then Back not workingYep, that is my take on the problem, too. I did clear cache and reboot before trying it again then reported it here as a possible problem. Microsoft installed updates a day or so ago — maybe that is the cause. Won’t be the first time they screwed something up…
Thanks,
Jim

In reply to: Cannot resize work area when Editing PostWell, it looks like nobody else has the same problem, but it still exists for me. What I want to happen is that the work area stays in the same position when I make changes to the text in Text mode. Currently, it will either automatically scroll to the top or to the bottom, making it necessary for me to scroll back to the place where I was making changes… This is very annoying!
My platform is a laptop using Windows 8.1 and my browser is IE 11. Same problem if I use Firefox 31.

In reply to: Cannot resize work area when Editing PostLet me modify the problem description somewhat: Whenever I choose any modification of an item such as italicize or bold or create a link after selecting the word in my text, I am taken to the very bottom of the post. This necessitates my scrolling back up to the top to resume my typing. It’s a big problem when I go to proof the post and wish to modify the text.

https://www.jfowlerphotography.comUpdate:
I changed my WordPress email address (under the WordPress General Settings tab)to [email protected] and set the number of recipients per email to 0 as instructed by your trouble shooting guide. That red-tagged message is no longer at the top of the Subscribe2 | Settings page.
When I go to Subscribe2’s send email to subscribers tab and send a test email, I get nothing in my [email protected] mail box. I know the address is good, because I can send an email to that address from my personal aol email account.
I really need some help, please. I have a number of blog entries to post and I have 150 subscribers who I’m now thinking will get no notifications.
Thanks in advance,
Jim Fowler
Thank you, mattyrob. That is very helpful to know.

In reply to: [Subscribe2 - Form, Email Subscribers & Newsletters] Return-to Default PageThanks, mattyrob, for your quick response, but you missunderstood my question. I have the suscribe box placed on the correct page — my HOME page. What I need to figure out is why a user is being taken to my ABOUT page after confirming (via email) the subscription request. I would like for the user to be taken to my HOME page.
Thanks for your help,

In reply to: [Captcha] captcha problem in commentI’m using the WP Dandelion Theme, and have just installed Captcha. It work by providing the Captcha box, but there are a couple of issues:
1. The Captcha box is under the Comment box. If the user doesn’t see the Captcha box and enters a comment, a “Please complete the CAPTCHA” error msg. comes up in a new, full-screen window. The only way I have found to get back to the comments page from this msg. is to hit the browser’s Back button. Doing so erases the comment from the Comment box. Not good… I think this will piss off some of my subscribers.
2. If the Captcha box cannot be re-located between the Comment box and the Submit button, is there a way to bold and/or color the text? That way it might stand out. I’m guessing that the Comment box for this theme is plopped onto the page in one piece, making it difficult to separate the Submit button from the Comment box.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
