yes, thanks, that was a useful reply. After 3 tries with my host tech support the solution turned out to be modifying the htaccess file.

the line in question was:

RewriteRule . /userid/index.php [L]

which needed to be changed to:

RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

I have had a non-wordpress site for years at https://www.example.com. I recently switched host services and re-built my site using wordpress. During the re-building I left my old site live on the original server and built the new site under the url (example) https://123.45.67.891/userid.

I completed the re-build and activated the new host with my url https://www.example.com but now my permalinks read like https://123.45.67.891/userid/pagename. Of course, I want them to read https://www.example.com/pagename.

How do I correct this?

I have installed the plugin and the widget. The url is https://www.BuylocalFoodInKitsap.org. I have tried loading image files to a subdirectory of the index and also tried linking to image files in flickr. In both cases what I end up with is non-functioning links that appear and scroll but lead one to a 404 error message. Please advise where to store the image files or otherwise help. Thanks.

I am into v 2.8.4 and have this same problem. I deactivated and activated plugins one at time. The save button has not re-appeared but the additions and changes I made “saved magically”.

Have any developers looked at this problem for a fix?

Maybe a better question is: “Is an import a one time event or a live feed?”

I deleted the posts from the import but will they return when the feed is updated?

I have just installed 2.3.3 and am struggling to find an answer to this question as well. Can anyone help?
