In reply to: [Astra] Update 4.8.4 caused critical error, but site is fineHello Aradhy,
Updated to Version 4.8.5 this morning. No issues on any of my sites – all looks good.
Thanks!
Yes!!! Phenomenal. Everything looks great with the update.
Thank you so much for your help and for the quick fix! Amazing job by you and your team. : )
No worries! Thank you for your quick responses.
If I’m not able to try it out today, I will test it tomorrow morning : )
Quick update – this issue is actually happening on my other sites too (https://o6l.0ab.myftpupload.com/, which is the staging site for lumenfocus.com, which is also experiencing the issue). However, it only appears to be happening on one page: https://o6l.0ab.myftpupload.com/baa-baba-solutions/, which is why I didn’t catch it before.
OK, I think I got the error using the WP Debugging Plug-in. See below.

I typically always receive the emails, not sure what’s going on today.
I am only an amateur at this. I’m having a hard time getting the WP-config file downloaded, my SFTP client is giving me an error message when I try (Error: Could not open ‘C:\Users\wp-config.php’ for writing: Permission denied.
Error: local: unable to open C:\Users\wp-config.php
Error: Critical file transfer error)I’m not sure where to go for the server logs. Can you assist? Or is there anything you can see on your end that can help?
I’m really trying to avoid having to call GoDaddy and get their help. That is not fun, and I don’t really have the time to work through this with them. Anything you can do?
Perfect, thank you! I will deactivate them all for now and we’ll see how it works out. Thanks again!
Tobias,
Thanks as always for your help and quick responses. That all sounds good. I think what we’ll do is we deactivate those extensions for now and see if we can live without them before we proceed with the upgrade. So I understand correctly – we just need to have those extensions “Deactivated” to avoid any issues, right? I was planning on deactivating them to test, but I didn’t want to outright delete them just yet.
@faisalahammad This issue was cleared up for me with v3.8.2
Updated to v3.8.2 this morning, seems to be working fine. Thank you!
FYI – I found a workaround that works OK for me.
If anyone else is experiencing this: the field to update this can be found in Advanced > Display Settings. Click the “Advanced” dropdown and scroll down to the field that says “Field marked with an * are required.” That field was blank for me, so the default was using the HTML to make the asterisk red. I simply typed in “Field marked with an * are required.” in that field, and that’s how it displays now. It’s a black asterisk instead of a red asterisk now, but that’s OK to me.
thank you!
Thank you Herman, it does appear to be fixed now.
So I did indeed have a margin of 20 on both the left and right margins of the desktop version. I tried changing the tablet and mobile versions, but nothing seemed to be updating (at least in the preview). Instead, I went back to the desktop version and removed the “20” from the left and right margin altogether, and just left those fields blank. Now the tablet and mobile posts are centered again.
Little strange to me, I would think a margin of 20 on both the left and right would still center the post… Either way, it appears to be fixed. Good catch, and thank you for your help : )
Thanks Herman. I wasn’t sure if the forums had a way to share files. Here’s the link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/j8fwav1uuvx8fosfkqebo/astra-settings-export-01-05-2024.json?rlkey=b39juitloqhbqwk791f9x6xk9&dl=0
