    Hey James,

Ahhhh ok. It just seemed unlikely that a handful of random old posts that are a bit obscure would actually generate traffic to my blog. But that’s interesting about the lack of referrers – if I had seen legit search engines in my referrers list then I would have been more likely to believe they were actual human visitors.

I have just installed antibots plugin so I’ll keep an eye on it’s visit log to see the number of human visitors.

I really appreciate your help mate!

Hello Threadi, my assumption that it is bots visiting my site is based on the GA stats – in the last 30 days I have had 675 sessions, yet only 25 referrals from six sites, and 98 percent of my visitors are new. Further, four of the top 10 most popular posts are old and obscure posts that I wrote years ago and have not promoted for a long time.

I’ll read the articles you suggest and try to learn more about it.

    Thankyou!

Hello James and thankyou for your reply. Yeah I certainly get your point re dissuading human visitors with captcha. I have blackhole installed and it has blocked one bot over the past few months. Maybe I’ll give antibots a try to. Thankyou

Hey Stef thanks for getting back to me so fast. I have the Alegreya font already in the Theme (sorry I should have made that clear – upon re-reading my request is very poorly written), but I can’t figure out how to change the image caption from the default font to Alegreya. I can’t find how to do it using the customizing options so thought it might be a matter of CSS, similar to the way you helped me to change the caption size and colour. Any ideas? Thanks as always

Hey @serafinnyc, I hope it’s OK to ask for some more help!

I am trying to change the caption font in Twenty Twenty Four from the default font to Alegreya.

Is there a piece of code I can use for this? Any help greatly appreciated!

I just discovered that the Edit view and Preview are different. The alignment of H1 and the text is correct in Preview and incorrect in Edit. I should have thought of checking this before as I seem to always have this problem (I have switched off the two plug-ins I am using and it makes no difference).

    OK thanks James

This clip shows how to do it. Just after the 5 minute mark

Create (& edit template) blog post in WordPress 2024 theme (youtube.com)

Thanks KC Tan for the clip

    Hello everyone,

The default WP 2024 Theme block width for a page is quite narrow, so I have widened the paragraph text blocks on a post (using the ‘pages’ template). But now the H1 does not align, and I can’t work out how to move it to the left so it will align with new block placement. It looks like this:

Visiting the Berlin Wall, Germany – Ghosts of War (ghosts-of-war-38b140.ingress-erytho.ewp.live)

    Can anyone help? Thanks everyone,

    Jim

Oh hey Threadi, thanks for answering. Yeah and I just noticed that my forum post was auto edited and so my example didn’t show the problem!!!

None of my site is live at the moment so I can’t link to the page, and I also don’t know how to paste a jpeg here. But it looks like this:

    (ignore these words) Heading 1

Paragraph starts here. Heading is offset to the right and I want it to align with the start of this paragraph

I hope that makes more sense! Thanks mate

    Hello Threadi and George,

Thankyou both for taking the time to help me out.

The problem was that the cover image was inside another block. As soon as I deleted the entire block and inserted a cover block only it appeared as full width.

I really appreciate your help gents, really kind of you.

    Cheers, Jim

Hello Threadi and thankyou for taking the time to reply.

I have already read though the documentation and I still cannot find any way to increase the width of the cover block. The Resize Tooltip does not increase the width, and the Change Alignment dropdown does not include the Wide Width Max 1200px Wide option. I tried changing the Block to a Column and still could not increase the width. It’s weird as I am using straight of the shelf Twenty Twenty Four theme with no customization and no plug ins. Any idea what might be happening?

Sorry I own the domain name but realise I haven’t actually published anything yet

Ok so I found out that the text size had changed from 22 to 24 site wide. The problem is the text is 24 in the Edit, but not in View. The size of the Caption text is correct, but the paragraph text is significantly too small. I have tried deactivating all plug ins and it made no difference.

    Can anyone please help?
