the latest message isn’t regarding permissions, this error message is specific to a functions.php file

yes – I created a directory by that name, then got this message:
I am stuck here-

This is the latest error message:

btw the file error ends in 04. with the dot –

Hi-
I upgraded the wp to the most recent – 2.1 –
I tried creating the directory, the series of directories listed in the path and I am still getting this error.

Anyone have any suggestions?
