Finally got it working after removing the plugin and starting over several times. I noted with concern that reinstalling the plugin and starting the Setup Wizard provided info from previous installs, like logo selection.
I ended up following one of the guides and am not sure what about it was different. That worked. The warning to attach YouTube is no longer present.
Thanks.I have made changes to the referenced website, so that the site title is no longer displayed. Just posting this here to avoid confusion along the lines of “what text?!?”
The problem still needs resolution, though.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Media Category Management] Help appreciatedI got here from your banner in the dashboard that says I’ve used the plugin for more than 15 seconds. LOL.
I happily have used the plugin for quite a while, but usually use it to manage the media library directly. I have not, that I remember, used it while inserting media from the page edit interface.
Because of your request, I tried adding an image block in a page (Gutenberg). I get the choice to add it from the media library. When in the media library, I do not have access to the MCM categories, so there is a problem. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. It’s a really useful plugin!
OK!
I initially could not find one of them on the page, although I now see it. It’s behind a fairly opaque overlay.I was able to edit the images in Elementor – select the section, edit, choose image, then unselect and reselect in the media library. That fixed it.
Part of the problem I was having was in selecting the image of the people in Elementor – I kept getting the spacer instead of the image. Eventually found a skinny piece of the image that could be clicked on to select.
I think your initial pointer at CSS was a red herring, but I appreciate that we’ve got it fixed.
Thanks.
Thanks for the response.
I’m still at a loss. The media library shows the images as https:
The CSS is not present in the Customizer.
I can’t see the CSS when editing the page in Elementor (not Pro – is that why?)Do I have to use the Google DevTools to access it and edit it? Is that the only way? And as a general question, how would I know that that’s where to look?
If I edit the page in Elementor, would removing the image and reinserting it fix the problem?
However, as I noted above, I don’t see one of the images on the page.
Thanks,
JackThank you!!
Between my testing and your explanation, I’m going to mark this as resolved.
JackDid some more testing.
Tried limiting the zip file size to 300MB and then to 250MB in the Expert Settings. Both still had the failures. I tried 200MB and was able to download the files.
Is this normal? Is this the right way to address the type of error I had?Does it tell us anything about being able to restore with these files?
I’ve just repeated the above – backed up and tried to download. I get the error on the initial file of the paired files, upload.zip and other.zip. Each is almost 400MB. I also get the error screen on other2.zip, but the download proceeds moments after the screen comes on. Other2.zip is 209MB.
Great! and thanks for the quick reply.
Is this overwriting automatic or are some settings required?
I got notification of your posting about the fix 4 days and 21 hours after you posted it! The www.ads-software.com system for notifications is, at best, wonky.
I any event, I did an update last night. I checked today, having gotten your message and it is indeed fixed.
Thanks again for your help and quick responses! I was going to mark this resolved, but I see you beat me to it.
Ouch.
Thanks for checking and confirming.
Thanks for the prompt and comprehensive support.
Since it’s still a problem, even though not yours, I am not marking this as resolved. In Incognito Mode still has problems.
Site one: WP 5.2.3, PHP 7.0.33
As the page loads for editing the TSF box appears at the top, then goes to the bottom. If I scroll up and down, it seems to stay where it belongs. If I move the cursor onto the block, it pops back over the block of the post. Motion alone is enough, I don’t have to click. Ctrl-reload does the same.Site two: WP 5.2.3, PHP 7.1.14
Pretty much the same behavior.Google does support the PortableApps version of Chrome. It is “installed” with a download from them.
Please clarify your link’s instructions about reinstalling the plugin, as per my question above.
Thanks
I have tried the steps that are accessible to me in Chrome. The forced reload, either by itself or after clearing cache seems to work initially. But scrolling down on the page, or possibly any interaction with the page causes the SEO block to come back up to the middle of the page/post content.
Firefox on Win7 and Linux Mint are OK. Opera on Win7 is ok.Your instructions suggest reinstalling the plugin as a last resort. At first, I read that as the cache plugin, but I now think you mean your SEO plugin. Please confirm. Also, by reinstalling do you mean deactivate AND remove, or only deactivate? If the former, won’t that lose all the metadata created with the plugin?
Thanks!
Would a screenshot be useful?
Fast response! Thanks!
It occurred to me that it might be a browser issue, so I tried the backend in Firefox and Opera and it displays correctly. I came back here to report that and saw your response. It seem that you are on the money regarding Chrome, which is what I am using. I updated it last night through Portableapps.com, since I am using the Chrome Portable version.
I will check your linked solutions.
