I decided to take a middle approach and leave the highest traffic site alone and converting the low traffic site to a multisite instllation. The process went smoothly although I did experience one URL problem which I resolved. I blogged about the issue and resolution here: https://bit.ly/aqpu6l.

I figured this out. The problem was the field “user_id” in comments. It was set to “3” for some users and there is no user with that ID in the system. The resolution was to change the “user_id” of all those commenters to “0”.

Hi, I had the same problem and found this thread. The core problem here is caused by the menu bars in TinyMCE being too long. The simple solution is to leave TinyMCE activated and reconfigure the tool bars with fewer icons.

Just to add to this, I am seeing the same thing. The other weirdness is that I will see one page, say the homepage, with my tweets and then I navigate to an archive page and it shows “no public posts”. Completely weird. I am running super-cache and cleared the cache and then the problem reversed itself. (“no public posts” on the homepage and normal tweets on the archive page.) Very odd. I have temporarily switched to twitter tools, but liked the simplicity of Twitter for WordPress.

I figured this out. The problem was that the WP-Super Cache settings had to be changed to make this work.
