    The answer from Transposh:

    Hi,

This is not really in our design, but if you want to have a /fr, set the default language in Transposh to English,

    Hi John,

Thanks for your update. I wrote to Transposh. Below is a copy of my message to them. I keep you updated if there is something new from them.

    JL

I used to mix mqtranslate with Transposh: mqtranslate to translate pages and posts by myself; Transposh to translate any text in the site which could not be translated by mqtranslate and also to add machine translation for additional languages.

Using the Transposh language selector, I had exactly what I wanted: human translation for English, all texts translated, and additional languages machine-translated. See it online at https://2cvolive.fr .

Now mqtranslate is deprecated and replaced by a new fork: qtranslate-x. But this plugin does not have the same behaviour as mqtranslate: the default language (French in both plugins) was not available any more and was replaced by English. I tried with various settings of Transposh, no way, the default language disappeared!

I wrote to John clause, the qtranslate-x creator and he answered the following:

“Do you have control in Transposh how they do the selection menu? They need to make switching language url to be https://2cvolive.fr/fr/path instead of https://2cvolive.fr/path. This article explains why: https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/2015/02/26/browser-redirection-based-on-language/. If they adjusted their theme for qTranslate, they may agree to adjust it now to -X too. Transposh did special customization for q- which needs to be undone now. Let us know how this will progress.”

Can you please have a look at this issue ? Thanks a lot !

    Hi John

I have mqtranslate on my site. I tried to update to qtranslate-X but had to come back to mqtranslate…

Actually mqtranslate was compatible with Transposh (which I use to translate some texts in Widgets that mqtranslate can’t translate, and also to add machine translation for extra languages that I do not translate myself). To select language I even use the Transposh widget instead of the mqtranslate widget and it works! See it on https://2cvolive.fr (site in construction, not many translations yet).

It appears that qtranslate-x is not compatible with transposh. If I use both, either with the qtranslate-x or transposh select language widget, I can’t access to the default language homepage (French) as it get stocked on EN page. Also it adds strange termination like “https://2cvolive.fr/en/es/ if I choose Spanish in the transposh widget, for example.

Do you have any idea on how to make qtranslate-x and transposh compatible, like mqtranslate and transposh are?

    Thanks.

    Hi Macmanx et vkaryl,

Both of you were really quick. It works, indeed. Thanks a lot.

I’m new to WordPress. I have a similar problem.

I tried to install the Static Front Page Plugin following the directives.
But I don’t see where is the “page slug”. It doesn’t appear in my admin panel. Should I choose a special option to make it appear?

PD: I have a blog in WordPress.com too, and I see the slug field in the “Compose page” Page. But it is not possible to upload plugins in WordPress.com…
