I hate to seem thick-headed here, because I know this topic comes up all the time, but I have been looking high and low for the ‘index.php’ and don’t see it anywhere. And once I do get there (assuming I do find it) I am a little unclear as to what line I am deleting.
Like most people who post on this topic, my domain is not a blog, but rather a site, so on the landing page, comments would have no relevance.
I am assuming you begin this process by going to the APPEARANCE then EDITOR and scroll down the html until you get there. Trouble is, I am not finding it anywhere.
