I know that I said earlier that I would ignore future negative comments, but I’m not about to allow such a shortsighted line of thought devalue the usefulness of my proposed plugin.

Do you honestly believe that there is nobody else out there who could use a plugin that interacts with Gmail accounts in the way I have described in my OP? If such a plugin existed, I’m sure it would be downloaded just as much, if not even more than your mentioned ecommerce plugin. Therefore, your point that this is a “bespoke” plugin is null and void.

Yes, I am aware of that. I am also aware that there are plenty of good samaratins who do this sort of thing all the time. I am actually one myself as I designed the entire website (and have made plans to do more) for free. As I mentioned earlier, this project is for a nonprofit organization (and it’s a youth program at that) so it’s for a good cause. It will also benefit other nonprofit projects I’ve made plans to work on in the future and I’m sure that there are many other folks out there who could also benefit.

If you can’t wrap your head around it, that’s fine – you’re entitled to believe what you will. However, I ask that you consider the collection of thousands (or is it millions?) of freely developed and distributed WordPress plugins that are out there.

I am kindly asking that if you do not have anything positive and/or constructive to add to this discussion, please refrain from posting at all. I’m actually quite shocked that a forum moderator such as yourself would make such a negative comment. However, that’s besides the point. The point is that I don’t want a negative comment such as what you just posted detracting from the goal of my original post.

With that being said… further negative comments will simply be ignored as I don’t have the time and/or patience to carry on with discussing anything that is not on par with turning this idea into a reality. Thanks, and I hope that you have a wonderful day! ??

My apologies for the triple-post. However, I just found a plugin for the default editor regarding anchor text that looks really nice. Is there any way we can make this feature compatible with CKEditor?:

OK I’ve figured out that you can just set the color of the anchor text to anything other than “automatic” to make the hyperlink go away. However, One other thing that is bothering me is the fact that in IE and Chrome, it scrolls down just past the anchored text when the link is clicked. Firefox seems to work fine and I have not checked other browsers. Is there any way to fix this behavior?

You could create a separate widget with the admin link in it and hide it from non-admins using the Adminimize plugin.

Minor correction to my earlier post… upgrading to PHP (not PVP)version 5.3 was the solution. Sorry for the typo.

@james Thanks for linking the fix to the “add media” button problem. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to help at all once applied. Turns out my web host still had my server running PVP version 5.2 and upgrading to 5.3 solved the problem for me. I didn’t undo the fix you linked prior to updating PHP though, so it could have been a combination of both that ultimately resolved this problem.

Just installed the new version (4.0) and everything appears to work properly within the editor itself (after clearing the browser cache). However, it seems to have broken the functionality of the “Add Media” button on top of the editor.

@shahnur: That’s a BS answer and you know it. You need to include support for uploading large files via FTP. Many servers are not going to allow large amounts of memory to upload files through the plugin.
