Same problem here with publishing new posts.

This plugin also seems to be causing server problems.

    Fred,

Dreamhost told me that there were known compatibility issues with W3 Total Cache. I was having problems with my website which I thought were more related to their hosting.

Prior to WP3.0, W3TC and my site was flying.

Now, I’m still having problems after following Dreamhost’s advice to switch back to Supercache, but it is running somewhat better now.

Maybe there’s some issue with W3TC and Dreamhost’s servers.

I currently running on their VPS service and looking for a better hosting provider.

    Strictly…

I removed W3 total cache and just went back to Super Cache. Total Cache worked great for WP 2.92, but it caused severe problems for me on WP 3.0.

Supercache now has my site functioning properly, but it’s not as fast by pingdom as w3total cache + wp 2.92

I actually liked this plugin until I upgraded to WordPress 3.0.

I’ve been having some issues with slow loading. Dreamhost told me that there are known compatibility issues with W3 Total Cache and WordPress 3.0. Since this is the “real bad time thread” I thought I would join in. I’m not sure if my problems are related to Dreamhost which I suspect or W3 Total Cache which worked fine for me prior to Wp 3.0.

I have the same problem as Kilrathy at my site: Supplement Updates

I tried editing that file and it didn’t resolve the no data issue.

I did find out what the problem is.

I guess Dreamhost is killing my user for using too many resources.

I am a big fan of the Hybrid Theme Framework. I’ve even created a child theme for this framework (I have zero web design experience, it was that easy). IMO, Hybrid is easily the best WordPress Framework currently available as open-source.

Initially, I had a few problems installing hybrid/child theme as well (I had never used a theme framework before and had similar problems when trying thematic). It’s a little different installation than a regular WordPress theme.

Here’s how to install a Hybrid Child Theme:

    1. You have to use FTP instead of WordPress auto installer for themes.
    2. One catch is that you download a zip file called Hybrid.0.7.1.zip or something like that. You have to unzip this file, then upload the 2nd level directory called just Hybrid. If you don’t the Hybrid parent theme will work, but the child theme will not.
    3. You have to do the same thing with child theme installations. You have to download the structure.zip file then unzip it. After that you use FTP to upload the 2nd level structure directory instead of the parent directory. Filezilla gets the job done fast and it’s also free.

My hybrid child theme is also free: Creatine

Yeah, I’ve gone to great lengths to simplify my site.

I used to have background images for the blog/footer, and widget titles that I’ve removed.

I’ve also removed a number of plugins.

Unfortunately, some very good additions are the worst offenders for slow page load times. I find that the Facebook Like widget along with Digg/Digg widget (Tweetmeme in particular) are brutal for slowing down page load times.

Yeah, my site was hacked. I had a bunch of base64 code in my theme and plugins directory. I hope that I’ve erased it all.

I think that I’ve resolved the problems, but it was quite time consuming.

    Hey thanks,

Wow, what a pain this was… I believe that I’ve resolved this issue. My theme had bad code in it along with some base64 code in my plugin directory.

I had to delete a bunch of files and change all my pw, then reinstall and configure my theme.

I’m going to be more careful about which plugins that I add in the future.

Hey thanks, I think my blog has some issues. I’ve erased some files that seem to have solved that problem.

I have some other issues with my blog loading from odd domains when I load pages like lindmonde.com, chickfilapopla.com, and invosternia.com–I don’t know why my blog is loading these domains. I might have a malware issue.

Where’s Webo? I can’t find it today listed as a WP plugin?

Hm, ran into CHMOD problems with WEBO again. I deleted it to try another re-installation. Now, I see that Webo Site Speedup is no longer listed as a plugin at www.ads-software.com?

In reply to: WEBO Site SpeedUp Feeback

I recently tried the Webo Site SpeedUp plugin. Yesterday, I experienced some problems on the first install (random errors pertaining to CHMOD change requests despite correct CHMOD settings). Then it crashed after I added some of the advanced settings and I could only get a black screen for it from my WP admin panel.

I tried one last time to re-install it today. Well, for some reason, it’s working now. I have it set just on ‘optimize’ with a few extra options clicked. From Pingdom, it’s saved 3.5 seconds on my page load time from WP Total Cache.

On the current settings, it works very well and I would recommend the plugin. I’m not sure why but the CSS Sprites slowed my site down drastically when I selected this option. Also, some of the advanced options didn’t work for my particular site since they created display problems.

Other than that, I’m very impressed with this plugin. I use the Hybrid-News theme which didn’t play well with the minify options from WP Total Cache, this aspect works fine for Webo with the Hybrid theme framework for my site.

    Hey, thanks for checking again.

Actually, I switched from WP Total Cache to Webo Site SpeedUp. It appears to have decreased my site’s load time about 3.5 seconds from Pingdom.

    Here’s the plugin: Webo.

*** I had some problems with getting the advanced settings to work properly (either created bugs or slowed down site [CSS Sprites]). The optimized version with a few extra options checked worked best for me.
