The Twitter Permalink code used to create a link to the web site location of the post. This now creates both a Permalink and a blank picture with a square on the left side. We would like just the title to the post, the first few words, and then the link to the article. I have the picture option turned off.

I checked the link you provided above, in the top window at twitter card validator, the notice said unable to render card preview and the bottom window said INFO: Page fetched successfully WARN: No metatags found. Cache has been cleared and no cloudfare used.

After reading your comments above, I wanted to make certain that the issue is that when adding the permalink to the tweet push from the site, the post when pushed to twitter, the tween had BOTH the link as well as a snapshot with and empty picture to the left. The link works and shows where it is supposed to show, the snapshot is then put at the bottom of the tweet. If I take the link out, the snapshot is gone, put it back in, the snapshot is there. Again, this does not occur with the other site, the post pushed to the tweet without the snapshot showing at the bottom, works perfectly and as described.

I tried the twitter card validator for the site which is working properly when pushing a post to twitter and the information provided back to from the validator is identical to that provided for the site that is not working.

Both sites are running the same versions of wordpress and the plugin. The only reason I can figure for this is that there was an update that causes this when installed new that does not show when updated from an older version.

Update:

I went to one of my other sites and it’s not exhibiting this problem. For some reason, the newly set up site, when it pushes the permalink to the site, that does not show up as a link in twitter, it instead shows up at a photo on one side, which is blank due to their not being a picture with this post, and on the right side, there is an overview of the title, subject, and when you click on it, it is a link that takes you to the site. I’m running 4.49 and the version of the plugin is 1.7.7.

It’s just not what I and other that are looking for a quick fix full blown job posting Plug-In, and if you read the initial information, that’s what it’s described to be. I looked at both your link’s and they are rabbit holes, I just don’t have time. I run into this all the time, many Plug Ins are more robust and have many options, but many, like me, are just looking for something easy and quick, the reason I got off HTML and went to wordpress, I don’t want to have to figure anything out, just want it to work. If I have to spend more than 10 minutes figuring it out, I just move on to another Plug-In which is what I did here. I’ve been an IT recruiter for 20 years and looks like this is oriented toward starting a board where folks post jobs, what I’m looking for and my clients are is a place on their web site where they can quickly and easily post their internal jobs, folks can apply, etc.
