In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] UpdraftPlus “disappeared”I have my plugins updating automatically. And just noticed that on a few of my blogs, Updraft Plus went missing in August. Re-installing found the old settings.
I need to pay more attention.

The whole folder can be emptied and it will just remain English?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [SiteOrigin CSS] "Access Denied"I got “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” Hmmm.
Update – I went to Appearance>Custom CSS and there it is. Working now.

In reply to: [Limit Login Attempts] Replacement for the Plug In?When I posted this, nearly a year ago, I was asking for advice on a good replacement. I’m not fixed on this, was just looking for a pointer to a newer plugin with this function.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Great plugin. I have a questionMicah – the site domain will appear in the file name, the file name looks like “backup_2015-12-21-2333_DomainName_xxxxxxxx-uploads”.
I am running it on multiple sites and it’s easy to see where the back ups are, even in one folder.
I just started using this great plugin.
The free plugin will back up the folders for plugins, themes, uploads, others (in which I found an important folder a paid theme created), and the SQL database.
Note, pages and posts are contained within the SQL database, not loose files, and all media should be in the uploads folder.
The free version doesn’t back up the wordpress files, which can be reloaded pretty easily, from your host or www.ads-software.com (here). So I suggest you keep a copy of wp-config.php and your .htaccess files.
The killer feature is automated backup to Dropbox (or other remote storage).

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Dropbox add on?Apologies. I just realized this forum is not to address paid versions of plugins. I will attempt to contact them directly.
I have exact issue – link to image on my admin page

In reply to: [Limit Login Attempts] Replacement for the Plug In?Agreed. but. When I see a plugin this old, I try to plan for the day it breaks. Yes, I’m OCD.

In reply to: Hack PreventionSorry if I wasn’t clear.
The admin name is not ‘admin’ nor the name used to post. So the name itself being accessible to an outsider seems a security issue. If I post as Joe, for example, I sign in as “Jack$24601bean”. My hack alerts are telling me someone is trying to sign in with that name.

In reply to: [Popular Posts Tabbed Widget for Jetpack] Please Fix the css codeany thoughts on how to change this widget’s colors to match one’s site?

In reply to: [Tabber Tabs Widget] Not actively supported anymoreMay I just say, what a shame. This was one of the easiest tabbed widgets to install and get working with little effort. I tried at least a half dozen before finding this gem. Now I’ll brace myself for it to stop working.

In reply to: [Social Media Widget] Code For Stumble UponI’m back. When I build the links manually, the Stumble won’t work. I was advised to use the plugin “Executable PHP widget” which makes the code above actually send the title and URL to Stumbleupon.
That’s the functionality that would make your plugin work for that type of site.
Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Moving theme customizing from localSorry, I wasn’t too clear.
I see that when I flip to the new theme (on live site) that posts look fine, but widgets don’t really turn up so well.
So, I was tinkering on my local installation, which has no posts, i.e. it was an empty WP install, but set up the new theme, sizing, widgets, etc. Now, I am asking if there’s a simple way to port that over. If not, I just need to list the customizations, and deal with the site looking a bit off for the time it takes to flip over.
I’d seen plugins that permit sandbox tinkering on the live site while not visible to the public, but that Plugin appears too old and unsupported.
