I am not sure if that is the solution you are looking for, but what I did as a work around, was to disable the featured area, and create a two column section with featured images + header + paragraph on the page (homepage) itself. This was fairly straightforward with the gutenberg editor. Needs a bit of CSS styling to go with it, but does the job. Hope this is helpful to someone.

I had a similar issue, with the images not showing up in grid view. What I noticed was the file url was incorrect when the images were listed in list view, it was showing httpa://… instead of https://…, I somehow had mis-typed the url in the database when migrating the website, this issue was rectified by editing the siteurl field in wordpress database table *_options (where * denotes the database handle used for the wordpress installation).

Okay this is how I resolved this issue. The plugin is located in the theme (you might need ftp access) functions/plugins folder. I downloaded the zip file from the folder to my local storage – my computer, then did a manual plugin install (uploaded plugin from local storage – my computer)

If you used the lockdown-wp-admin plugin then the simpliest method is probably to delete the plugin from the backend, then you can login through /wp-admin again, reinstate the plugin if necessary and take note of the url this time around ?? .
