In reply to: [WooCommerce] Coupon discount increases with sales taxYep ok. Makes perfect sense. Here is the issue I am running into: When I add the coupon in the cart, it subtracts it pre-tax and the amount matches. However, when I then go to the checkout page where tax is added, the tax amount is added to the coupon!
So not sure if you are essentially saying the same thing but how can I possibly give someone the correct coupon amount if I don’t know what tax rate they have?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Coupon discount increases with sales taxHave you been able to figure this out? I have the exact same problem.
There is NO way this should work like this. If I want to give a customer a coupon for $50, the customer should receive $50 off. Not $53.87. It will just confuse them. PLUS taxes vary from state to state, from county to county – so I have no idea how much $ is added on to every coupon.
I am using UPS and a plugin called Tax Rate Upload, how about you? Because it used to work fine for me in the very beginning

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Coupons not calculating correctly?Hey there,
late follow-up. I still haven’t been able to figure this out and we had a web developer look into it! I did a Google search and I am not the only one with that problem (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/coupon-discount-increases-with-sales-tax/).
It looks like sales tax is added to the coupon because it increases proportionally with the amount. Obviously this is causing a lot of problems – I have no idea what zip code (tax rate) a customer will be in so how can I give him an accurate discount?
Either way – how can we resolve this? Any suggestions more than welcome!!!
Update: This one is better and not cut off
Hi,
not sure if I got all that correctly from your response. So the plugin takes the information from the main weight & dimensions fields? But that’s part of the problem, as I mentioned above: Those should be the dimensions of our actual product, not the shipping package, right?
I do have the latest version installed, just checked. Here is the screenshot with debug enabled as pdf – does that help?
Please advise. Thanks,

Hi Mickey,
here are 2 screenshots:

https://antsle.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-28-at-11.48.22-AM.pngThis example is for a product going to South Carolina. We charged roughly $22 in shipping and UPS charged us $32.
Also, right now we basically adjusted the product dimensions and weight to fit the actual package so that the plugin calculates it correctly. What we want though is to feature our actual product dimensions, and then maybe the packaging dimensions separately so that the plugin can calculate accordingly. It’s important that users get the dimensions & weight of the product, not the packaging.
thanks for your help!
