BTW, I was using filenames like egneb.jpg, really innocuous stuff.

I reuploaded admin-functions.php, this time using my hosting provider’s file manager, and the problem remains. I guess the solution is to stop using the upload function in WP. I am just moving the file over to the wp-content folder w/my ftp program. It’s easier that way anyway, although I’m not sure how to thumbnail w/out using the upload option in WP.

    a href=”?php bloginfo(‘url’); ?”
    h1 id=”header” [slash]h1
    [slash]a

I solved my own problem. Not exactly sure why this works, but it does. Starting in line 31 of index.php:
    “>
    <h1 id=”header”></h1>

In other words, the a href was moved to its own line, prior to h1 id, then the closing slash a was moved to the line after the slash h1. My entire banner area now links back to the top level page.

I’m not sure, I do not know how to do it. This seems like something that would be a common desire, for people to replace the title text with a banner or logo, but still have the banner / logo clickable. Am I missing some easy way to do this?

Good call, our parental controls software was apparently interfering with the FTP upload. Shut that off and recopied the files, and installation was flawless.
