In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Four] Impossible previewJack, there’s nothing special about a “WordPress website test/development”. It’s just another WP installation, a separate on where you can experiment without disturbing your “real” one. You could maybe put it under a sub-domain. Happy googling & learning.
Mod: my comment about #metoo was just info. I don’t need support. I hope I here gave support. OK?

In reply to: [DX Out of Date] Show in listing (of /tag /category)I don’t know that I really can give more info. It should be all there.
The only thing I could add would be some names I use for tags and categories, but that shouldn’t matter. A tag name could be “Doodle” for when we are asking people to answer an online form on doodle.com, or “repertoir” for any changes or additions to our repertoir (we’re a choir, and it’s the members’ forum, so that’s why it is closed). edit Or “name-of-event” for the example I gave, “for this year’s events”.

In reply to: [Polylang] Update Changelog?Bump, because:
As I googled it, changelog.txt (having a relevant name … ) came up.
It was old (why??) but it helpfully included that newer info was to be found in readme.txt
But then readme.txt isn’t helpful in that way, so I had to go here.
Why, oh why, stop using changelog.txt, as it is eminently helpfully named, has been used and is so googleable.
Or, as a substitute [not really, it would be infinitely better], have a page on polylang.pro containing the (oy, even page named) Changelog.

In reply to: [Polylang] Autocomplete not working when trying to link to my translationsI had the same problem, as I just installed Polylang.
As I followed the Polylang “Get started” FAQ, I did this:
I made two languages, whereof the first of course became main.
Did menus and widgets. As Icame to ste 7 and went to pages and started editing one, I saw that it was in the main language (the “Languages” dropdown to the right was set to it). As was the case for all pages.
So I went to the corresponding other language page, changed its language, and tried to connect it to the main one.
Autocompletion gave nothing, like you experienced here!
I saved, went back to the corresponding main page, switched the languade dropdown from, and back to, main language. Then the URL changed to …/lang-id/post-name.So: it seems no page is *actually* set to any language, even if it seems so at edit of the page itself.
After having set languages to pages – and the URL changed – I could find them by autocompletion. There is an option, I believe Settings/Languages, to turn everything to main language (it pops up if there is anything without lang).

In reply to: [Limit Login Attempts] "Plugin not updated in over 2 years" ???Just FYI:
I got this with a new install of WP through my web hotel’s (binero.se) “OneClick Installer” yesterday. So I suppose they think it’s valuable and viable.
(I also got WP 4.3.1, and Akismet 3.1.3 [=2015-07-06, .4=09-24])Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Sixteen] Did the last update kill my WordPress?Available revisions:
https://themes.trac.www.ads-software.com/log/twentysixteen?limit=100&mode=stop_on_copy&format=rssThis one works for me:
https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/theme/twentysixteen.0.1.20151109.zip
…but later revisions break my site (4.3 auto-updated).
You can download other dates by changing the zip filename. As revisions are daily, any date will be downloadable.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Convert Post Types] WPML compatibility ?Good with WPML support. You ought to update that in the plugin page description (“selling point” ?? ) and changelog.
