In reply to: [Spam Destroyer] Still got lots of spam coming through :(Nope, and since you didn’t returned to me (I know you are not getting paid for this work ?? ), I gave up, and am now using a combination of “Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin” and “Simple Trackback Validation with Topsy Blocker”.
Never seen any spam ever since.

In reply to: Comment form – labels to the rightThank you esmi,
You’re answers is most appreciated and usually very useful.
I love to learn by doing, so coming here is my last option every time.
This not a css related problem as far as I have read until now. It involves both comment.php and functions.php and setting up filters.
This is what I’ve tried since last Friday with no luck, and believe me: I’ve tried to walk the css road long before coming here asking for help.

In reply to: New comment form issuebcworkz,
Absolutely great, thank you!
The cleaned up code you provided has solved my problem, and has been sent to work.

Michael
The above error happens in Chrome and Safari (not other browsers in my case) when….
the “Gravatar Hovercards” option is activated in Jetpack !!
THere might be several other plugin’s using this “hovering” like Cookie Control and Gravatar Hovercards that might be in conflict, that I have no knowledge about.
But I really want Hover Cards on my comments, so would you please, sherred, look into this?
Regards,
??
MichaelSomething in Jetpack is causing this error!
It occurs in Chrome and Safari …
Working right now trying to find out what function in Jetpack being the culprit …
Harsh or not. I totally agree with Bitwize’s first post!

In reply to: [Spam Destroyer] Still got lots of spam coming through :(Ryan,
This is a test to see if the Spam Destroyer plugin for WordPress is working. This comment should be rejected immediately. If you are seeing this, then this test did not work.
It is in my spam queue along with 3 other spam mails received from my last posting here.

In reply to: [Spam Destroyer] Still got lots of spam coming through :(Impressive! A responsive developer, – and even a damn fast one of the specie! ??
I really would like your plugin to work because of it’s simplicity.
I’ve tried SFW, also with negative results. I also see no reason to make it that complicated (as with SFW) for the user, if yours would do the job just as well.
I too suspect Thesis to be the problem. Wouldn’t it be great to find a way around?
I will provide you with anything needed, and of course also the links to the blogs…
Thesis 1.8.5 – https://www.buildinganonline.com/
Thesis 2.0.1 – https://www.freealternativeenergy.info/Spam Destroyer installed on both – both still receiving comments marked as spam.
freealternativeenergy.info only got your plugin and WordPress SEO installed.
SD seems to work (almost) perfectly @ https://www.michaeljohansen.info/ which is not using a Thesis theme

P.S. You just earned your self an other star! ??
Since this thread is marked [resolved], I have opened a new thread…
Every time you come out with a new version, I’ve had troubles getting my blog to work again after upgrading!
Now I’ve given up and tried to uninstall you plugin.
No matter how hard I try to make my blog work after uninstalling it, I keep get the following warning above my comment box:
Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘tl_spam_free_wordpress_comments_form’ was given in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403 – See more at: https://www.buildinganonline.com/blog-engage-review-consider-join-2769/
As soon as your plugin is reactivated, the above disappears.
I’ve used your plugin’s possibility to create the comment form once, but since it looked awful (at my theme), I disabled it immediately again.
I’ve tried to run the SQL query mentioned above – No luck!
I’ve tried to re-install it, and deselect all options – No luck!
I’ve deactivated all other plugin’s – No luck!My support question is: What do I do to end this error?
After 26 hours!
Hello Michael-
W3 Total Cache is a good plugin, but it does have two options that if they are enabled generates this issue. This is why in our guide we specify not to use those options:
https://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/w3-total-cache-wordpress-pluginIt is due to this confusion that we are reccomending WP Super Cache, as the options list is less extensive. At this time I have set up WP Super Cache on your primary domain and have removed the restriction on your account. If you have any other wordpress installations, it would benefit not only the server load, but your site speed to use it on them, following this guideline: https://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/wp-super-cache-plugin
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and at this time the block against your site has been removed.
Cordially,Zach E.

Hi Campbell,
Thank you for a kind and very useful answer!
I am / was on a shared server. I’m moving out of Hostgater as I’ve had it with them.
My site(s) are on and off all the time. Some times only for a few minutes, sometimes for much more, during the day – every day! No explanation – No real help to find out why. It’s been going on for almost a year by now, and I’ve spend countless of hours with their support.
And now this! I have had my site suspended for now almost 26 hours, even though I immediately disabled W3-Total-Cache and wrote to support.
No response so far, so I’m off for an other more trustworthy host!
I’m trying to run a business, not to take a degree in programming!2 thing come to my mind:
1) It should be clearly mentioned in the W3-Total-Cache setup instructions, that Database and Object Cache are not supported and are not advised to use when on a share hosting!
2) Even though HostGator is a cheap hosting solution, it is outrageous bad support to leave a customer with his site being offline this long. My last email to support was sent 11? hours ago. No answer yet!
MrsBit,
Who are you to question my intentions, and why?
The above quote is indeed from HostGator Support and my site is indeed still taken offline.
If you, MrsBit, has any questions regarding my claims, you are more than welcome to contact me directly to get a very straight answer to your false accusations!
My presence in this forum is in no way anonymous. I’m am in fact very easy to find, should anyone wish to.
You, on the other hand, cover your self behind a fake name, and a generic avatar!
