Many thanks for your help on this. As you stated in your first entry, access to the (original new.sitename) database remained in place after moving all the WP files across to the new location in sitename.com.

Having gone in and manually changed the hard-links all appears to be working fine, so thank you.

The one thing that irks me is that that the importing of the databases failed, but that is for me to follow up with the Hosting Company. Kind of concerning for back-ups of database. For now the site now looks good.

I am not so sure of the assumption of the adding /new/ on the end of the original site name – I just tried this and it does not work. Additionally in looking at databases stored under sitename.com and new.sitename.com they are completely different – here I am looking at the list of databases not just the ones being used.

While I had asked the hosting company for a sub-directory to assemble this new site, in practical terms the new.sitename.com appears to be acting as a completely new domain name and that is how it appears in the CPanel.

It seems to me that in taking the path that I propose I may be doing a bit of overkill potentially, but it should work fine. Is that a reasonable take on this?

As you can see the SSB share buttons get added at the bottom but this is not what was really required.

That is what I thought, but hopefully the feedback is useful. Interaction is everything these days and throwing the comments below the carousel and away from the actual post just doesn’t help on that respect.

Thanks for getting back Hannah, I do understand that the background color can be varied using the code provided and thank you for that.

I have disabled maintenance mode for you to go in and check the code so that I may be able to change the font color itself.

I have changed the background color and this works fine (only I had to then change the hover color).

If the client was wanting the sidebar not to stand out, can the colour of the date details in the sidebar (as per original query) be changed?

It looks as though I was logged on using both ipad and imac at the same time (ipad first) and this was causing problems. Issue has no resolved.

Just wanted to add that on an ipad the colour options are still there without issue. using the iMac however, these colour options are not available and the issue persists (at least on my own iMac and there does not appear to be any other issues with it.

just thought I would add that this does not have a table in the second column – I tried this first of all, but it did not work , as noted above. My next step was to try a div – here you can see the div with a border – I out the CSS in the advanced section.

Ok, have just disabled the maintenance mode, but will look to restore this. Here is the link to the page as it stands and hopefully you can see the issue.
