In reply to: [raindrops] Template functions.php errorHi Nobita,
Thanks for the hint. I actually don’t need the php8 – the site was just upgraded to te highest available version. I have downgraded to php7.3 but it didn’t help. I have added the variable WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY but unfortunately the errors are still displayed.
regards, John

In reply to: [raindrops] Number of comments not shownHi Nobita,
Thanks for the testing. There must be something wrong with the installation. The comments are allowed also for nonregistered users, the article itself has the comments allowed and an unregistered user had actually posted a comment. Despite that, it is no longer possible to post a comment anywhere (regardless I’m logged in or not).
Yes, I use Jetpack – I’ve made changes on the “Discussion” tab but no help.
I have the same settings on my other site skkp-karate.cz – here it works well (the comments are now generally allowed but switched on for a particular post, but if I switch them on, the comment form appears).br/john

In reply to: [raindrops] Number of comments not shownHi Nobita,
Thanks for the hint. The comments are allowed and for some posts actually exist. Despite of that the comment counter link is not displayed.
The site is experimental so that I am unable to specify, when exactly the link disappeared – could be within some weeks.br/John

In reply to: [raindrops] link to the last postHi Nobita,
Thanks for the hint. It works quite fine, but the main obstacle for me is that then I can no longer use the classic editor and the new block editor is a pain for me. Another problems were that I was not able to position the widget (neither can it be sized) and the Jetpack publicize elements (FB like/share) disappeared.
I have also tried the shortcode [archive], which seems to do the trick but it does not work in my case. When I insert it into the page it just writes out the shortcode text. I have the WP instalation on separate server (not wordpress.com) but with Jetpack should the shortcodes work as well.

In reply to: [raindrops] Remove menu item text from the top of pageHi Nobita,
Sorry, maybe I have expressed myself not clearly. What I need, is that the menu item text is not displayed on the page (and I need it for all menu items, that are connected with a page). So there is no need to detect the click – just don’t show this text when the page is displayed. The custom CSS entry that you suggest works fine – it is only necessary to enter it for each menu item and there remains a blank gap on the top of page but I can live with it.
Many thanks!

In reply to: [raindrops] Remove menu item text from the top of pageHi Nobita,
Thanks for the suggestion. However, this will hide the entire menu item from the menu bar. I want to keep this menu item visible but if an user clicks on the menu item and opens the underlying page, then the menu item text displays on the top. And this is what I want to remove – see the picture: https://skkp-karate.cz/wp-content/uploads/menu.png

In reply to: [raindrops] Menu font size/color/weight…Hi Nobita,
This is just a matter of design – no special reason. Thanks – it works. Now the menu bar is thinner. Is it possible to make the menu text top-justified.
Bottom strip: this is the very bottom part of the page where the custom footer credit is displayed.

In reply to: [raindrops] Menu font size/color/weight…Hi Nobita,
Thanks for the suggestion. One more question: is it possible to set the height of the menu bar and also the bottom strip?
