In reply to: Trouble with permalinks and .htaccessI just got them on the phone. The server IS running mod_rewrite. And while I had them on the line I had them watch the time-stamp on the htaccess while I fiddled with permalinks. Nothing changed. WP doesn’t seem to be talking to that file. We even opened up 777 permissions on the file for a minute to make sure there was no problem in that department.

In reply to: Redirect Old HTML Page to New WP PageHm. The redirects will keep the juice, but the new URLs/permalinks will be… less than tight.
https://www.guitarist.com/classical/
becomes
https://www.guitarist.com/BLOG/classical/https://www.guitarist.com/classical/sheet-music/index.htm
becomes
https://www.guitarist.com/BLOG/classical/sheet-music/index.htmEvery old URL will have that /blog/ directory inserted. Doesn’t seem good.
Hm, hm, hm…

In reply to: make home page actual home pageOn your Admin page, click on MENUS. You’ll see your navigation tabs there. You can create new tabs there, or you can customize the tabs that are already there. If there’s a HOME tab already there, click on CUSTOM and enter the address (URL) of the home page.

In reply to: Twenty Ten: Moving Post BG to the LeftThank you both very much!
Now, one little detail: In the sidebar, I seem to have an extra semi-transparent BG overlaying the bottom one. I only want the bottom one (otherwise the BG is too black):
Any ideas?

In reply to: Twenty Ten: Show Background Between Posts?Yes, it always seems to happen that way — as soon as I give up on something, I see the solution! ??
But thanks for the offer. And nice job on your site!

In reply to: Features & Bugs in iBlog2Hi. I just moved my blog from Blogger to WP. Now I’m trying out your iBlog2 theme and I want to add the Google Analytics code by hand.
So I took a look at the footer.php file and I was surprised to see that there appears to be some sort of analytics code already there. It looks like this:
===============================================
<!– Analytics Go Here –>
<?php if(get_option(‘pp_analytics’)):?><?php echo get_option(‘pp_analytics’);?><?php endif;?>
<!– End Analytics –>
<?php wp_footer(); ?>
</body>
</html>
===============================================So what’s that about? Is there some sort of analytics function already included in iBlog2? Do I add my Google code underneath that (just above the </body> tag), or do I replace some of that code, or what?
Many thanks in advance,
John Philip Dimick
