As a starting point I have installed the free version of Table Press. As there seems no facility to send an image I have sketched the layout I am looking for. The image is just a small coloured block to indicating days booked.
Many thanks for any help.

In reply to: Error establishing a database connection.Well after a long learning struggle the problem was eventually sorted out. I think when I was entering the final database fields the problem was there but I am not completely sure of what I was doing wrong. The tables have also appeared in the database.
Thanks for the help and your interest.John H

In reply to: Error establishing a database connection. Thanks for your help.
I still have the same error “Error establishing a database connection”
I have recreated the files and database to correct any errors, several times but the error persists.I notice that no config file is automaticaly created but
wp-config-sample.php can be copied and updated to correct this which has been carried out and checked for missing ‘ – items! When the database is created no tables are created. Previously tables were created in the database but for some reason , no more.
I have checked and double checked the database details are correct in config.php.
PHP version XAMPP Version: 8.1.12
(Some time ago I purchased some software which carried out the installation but unfortunately they no longer seem to exist.)
Thanks again

In reply to: Creating a new database in phpmyadminI have already installed WordPress and was able to create several test databases including tables with no problems. Suddenly that has changed so that on a database creation no tables are created.
After searching for a solution I discovered the article and mistakenly thought the code I found may assist.
Any other suggestions please? Thank you

In reply to: Creating a new database in phpmyadminI found this code
Error
SQL query: Copy
CREATE TABLE
bookladdermatch_form
(id
INT(20) NOT NULL,date_fld
DATE NOT NULL,time_fld
TIME(20) NOT NULL,challenger_fld
VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL,opponent_fld
VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL );MySQL said:?
#1426 - Too big precision 20 specified for 'time_fld'. Maximum is 6
I believe from what I read this can be changed, can anyone advise how this can be carried out please?
Thanks

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionThanks Steven,
I have the php database setup in the normal way, I have set these up for other websites without too many problems and I will delve into this further later.
I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upw5QPhiQUY as a prompt
I would be interested to have your opinion on the fact that No tables are found in database. Maybe that is to be expected in view that the connection was not established. Perhaps you would comment please?
Thank you
John

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionHello Steven,
I am fairly new to WordPress and I am do not understand the process to GRANT ALL on DATABASENAME.* to ‘databaseusername@localhost` IDENTIFIED BY ‘databaseuserspassword’;
I wondered if you knew of a video or tutorial somewhere that may assist me in carrying this out.
Many thanks,
John
