Not sure if you looked at my gallery, but I don’t think the problem is the thumb border or the background.
The problem is that every picture has a black strip on the right side (only). The black strip wasn’t there until recently – the edges of the photos were previously parallel with the edges of the text boxes underneath the photos.
I didn’t change any settings. I think it must have been caused by a recent update.- This reply was modified 5 years, 11 months ago by johnmacdonald.

In reply to: [Photo Gallery, Images, Slider in Rbs Image Gallery] Vulnerability to hackersI think you’re right.
The whole WP installation seems to have been hacked, along with PHP admin
I’m still working on this with my hosting provider.
I’ll let you know if I have any problems with the gallery when everything else is fixed
I noticed that Robo Gallery Updates overwrite gallery.css, so it would be nice to have a way to change this permanently, such as an option in the Settings menu
Thanks a lot! That worked perfectly.

Try disabling / re-enabling the RoboGallery cache on the Edit Gallery page.
I had a similar problem and it worked for me…
I finally managed to add some new images.
I did it like this: I disabled the RoboGallery cache on the Edit Gallery page, added the new images, updated the gallery and then re-enabled the RoboGallery cache.
I decided to try that because I saw the message “If you modify settings gallery generate new cache after save.” under the RoboGallery cache tab. The English isn’t very clear, especially since an image is not a setting, but I thought I would try it anyway and it seems to work.
If this was really causing the problem, the text definitely needs to change, and it would be very helpful if an alert popped up to tell users that are trying to update a gallery that they need to disable / re-enable the cache.
I also tried creating a new gallery with a few pictures.
The new gallery is at https://irishbliss.com/LaharanCottage/post_/
As you can see, no images are shown in the gallery
I have several other plugins, but haven’t installed any new plugins since the last time that I successfully added new pictures to the gallery.
I use WP Super Cache. I tried clearing the cache and disabling the plugin, but that didn’t make any difference.
I also use the Slider Revolution plugin that was bundled with the WP theme (Haven by ThemeFuse)Forum: Plugins

Thanks for getting back to me. Like I said, there is no error message – however, the gallery doesn’t update.
Wordpress version is 4.9.4
I didn’t upload any other new pictures for a couple of months, so it’s difficult to know when the problem started.
I didn’t check the version numbers on the Robo Gallery updates, but it has been updated to the latest version.
Thanks for the speedy response!
It seems to have been WP Super Cache that was creating the problem. I was able to click through to PayPal without any error. I disabled the /booking/ string in WPSC and now the error message appears.
